George Scott (boxer)
George Kelly Scott (born 20 December 1966), earlier George Cramne, is a retired Swedish professional boxer of Liberian descent. He won the Swedish championship five years in a row, took a silver medal in the Olympic games in Seoul 1988. He became a pro boxer and trained for the legendary Angelo Dundee and won the world champion belt for WBU. Sir James George Scott (pseudonym Shway Yoe, 25 December 1851 – 4 April 1935) was a Scottish journalist and colonial administrator who helped establish British colonial rule in Burma, and in addition introduced football to Burma. Life He was born in Dairsie, the second son of Mary Forsyth and Rev. George Scott, a Presbyterian minister. His elder brother was Robert Forsyth Scott, who was to become Master of St John's College, Cambridge. Three years after the death of Rev. Scott, Mary moved with her two sons to Stuttgart, where they lived until the outbreak of the Austro-Prussian War. After returning to the United Kingdom, Scott was educated at King's College School. He went on to Lincoln College, but was unable to complete his studies there due to a decline in the family fortune. He worked first as a journalist. Sir George Gilbert Scott (13 July 1811 – 27 March 1878), known as Sir Gilbert Scott, was a prolific English Gothic Revival architect, chiefly associated with the design, building and renovation of churches and cathedrals, although he started his career as a leading designer of workhouses. Over 800 buildings were designed or altered by him. George Byng Scott (1824 – 17 February 1886) was an English-born Australian public servant, who served as Government Resident of the Northern Territory between 1873 and 1876. Career Born in Gillingham, Kent, England in 1824, Scott moved to South Australia in 1846, initially working as a farmer near Morgan. After a further four years as a gold miner, first in California, United States and then in Bendigo, Victoria, Scott became the Inspector of Police for the South-Eastern District of South Australia. At the same time, he served as a stipendiary magistrate. In 1859, he moved to be a magistrate in Naracoorte. From 6 October 1873 until 30 June 1876, Scott served as Government Resident of the Northern Territory.
