George Ormond
George Matthew Ormond (15 December 1889 – 25 July 1980) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left back in the Scottish Football League for Rangers and Morton. He won the Scottish league title in the 1911–12 and 1912–13 seasons with Rangers, and missed only one match for Morton when they finished runners-up in 1916–17, the highest position ever achieved by the Greenock club (they were also fourth and third in the two prior seasons and fourth and third again in the two following seasons, easily the strongest run in their history). In knockout competitions, Rangers won the Glasgow Cup, then seen as an important trophy, in each of the three seasons Ormond was at Ibrox but he was not selected for any of the finals, with Andrew Richmond, John Robertson and Harry Muir selected on each occasion. John Robertson (footballer, Born 1884)
John Nicol Robertson (1884 – 23 January 1937) was a Scottish professional footballer who played at half-back for various clubs in the early 20th century, spending most of his career with Southampton. Football career Robertson was born in Ochiltree in South Ayrshire and after spending time with Rangers in Glasgow, moved to England in April 1902 to join Bolton Wanderers of the Football League Second Division. At Bolton, he found it hard to break into the first team, making only one appearance at left-half in 1903–04. After three years of reserve team football, he eventually had a more sustained period in the first team, making 14 First Division appearances, generally at right-half, in 1905–06 in English football, 1905–06. Scottish Football Alliance
The Scottish Football Alliance was a football league football structure set up in Scotland in competition with the Scottish Football League. Its success in the early years of professional football in both England and Scotland made Alliance the basis for a second division in both countries. The alliance attracted a number of Junior clubs to the League system to guarantee its longevity for years to come. 1891–97 Originally founded in 1891 to rival the League, the Scottish Alliance was one of a number of leagues set up a year after the Scottish Football League was formed. The original members were Airdrieonians, Ayr, East Stirlingshire, Morton F.C., Kilmarnock, King's Park, Linthouse F.C., Northern, Partick Thistle, Port Glasgow Athletic, St Bernard's F.C. and Thistle. 1921 Scottish Cup Final
The 1920–21 Scottish Cup was the 43rd staging of Scotland's most prestigious football (soccer), football knockout competition. The Cup was won for the first time in their history by Partick Thistle F.C., Partick Thistle who defeated Rangers F.C., Rangers in the final. Thistle played 11 matches in their cup run. The defending champions Kilmarnock F.C., Kilmarnock were defeated in the second round by Aberdeen F.C., Aberdeen. Second round Partick Thistle had two goalless draws with Hibernian - the first at Easter Road and the second at Firhill in front of 25,000 fans, before a single goal from MacFarlane, who played no part in the final, saw off the Hibs in the 2nd replay. The second replay on Tuesday 21 February 1921 at Parkhead, Glasgow had an attendance of over 20,000 on a wet and stormy day. MacFarlane's second half goal was a header scored from a free-kick. The War Fund Shield was a Scottish football competition that was contested twice in the spring of 1915 and then again in the spring of 1918 (the Navy and Army War Fund Shield as it then became known).
