George Noah
George Kayode Noah (born October 1957) is a Nigerian journalist and former state official. Noah was the managing director of the Lagos State Signage & Advertisement Agency between 2011 and 2015, an agency of the Lagos State Government responsible for regulating and controlling outdoor advertising and signage displays in the state. Education Noah attended ADC Primary School in Apapa, followed by secondary education at the Apostolic Church Grammar School in Lagos. He did his A-levels at the then Ahmadiya College Agege, Lagos and The Polytechnic, Ibadan. Whilst at the Polytechnic he also passed the University of Cambridge A-level exams. He then attended the University of Ibadan, graduating in political science with honours. Noah is a member of the Strategic Planning Society in London and a fellow of the National Institute of Marketing. Lagos Countdown
The Lagos Countdown, renamed One Lagos Fiesta in 2015 and now Greater Lagos Fiesta, is an annual New Year's Eve event at the Bar Beach in Lagos. The event lasts for 21–23 days and traditionally begins on the 7th or 8 December and lasts through January 1 of the new year. The first Lagos Countdown was held in 2012 as an attempt to drive up tourism and make an event similar to New Year's events in New York, Sydney, and other major cities, and in 2013 an estimated 200,000 people celebrated the event during a ten-day period and earned the city about one billion naira. Festivities for the countdown typically include fireworks, live music concerts, and karaoke. Performers at various countdowns have included Tuface Idibia, Olamide, and Funke Akindele, and previous countdown sponsors have included Airtel Nigeria. Babatunde Raji Fashola ( yo, Bàbátúndé Rájí Fáṣọlá; born 28 June 1963) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician currently serving as the Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria. He served two terms as Governor of Lagos State from 29 May 2007 to 29 May 2015. Ajah, Lagos
Ajah is a town in Eti-Osa local government area in Lagos State in Nigeria. It encompasses Addo, Langbasa, Badore, Ajiwe, VGC, etc. History Ajah was founded by the Odugbese Abereoje who accommodated Ogunsemo and Ojupon families in the 16th century. The Odugbese Abereoje were the first settler and which major occupation was fishing. They appointed the Baale (Someone that is always around), while they were away in the river fishing to see to the affairs of the community in absentia. The Baale was from Ogunsemo. Ajah land is divided to 42 chiefs and 10 king makers. The 11th Baale of Ajah, Chief Murisiku Alani Oseni Adedunloye Ojupon was installed on 1 October 2009. Lekki
Lekki is a city in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located to the south-east of Lagos, Lagos city. Lekki is a naturally formed peninsula, adjoining to its west Victoria Island (Lagos), Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos, with the Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east; however, the city's southeast, which ends around the western edge of Refuge Island, adjoins the eastern part of Ibeju-Lekki LGA. The city is still largely under construction, as of 2015, only phase 1 of the project had been completed, with phase 2 nearing completion. Victoria Island, Lagos
Victoria Island (VI) is an affluent area that encompasses a former island of the same name neighbouring Lagos Island, Ikoyi and the Lekki Peninsula by the Lagos Lagoon. It is the main business and financial centre of Lagos State, Nigeria. Victoria Island is one of the most exclusive and expensive areas to reside in Lagos. The town and island lie within the boundaries of the Eti-Osa Local Government Area (LGA). History A large part of the Island was originally part of jurisdiction of the Oniru chieftaincy family of Lagos with tenants inhabiting the land.
