George Miller (June 28, 1941 – March 5, 2003), born George Wade Dornberger, was a stand-up comedian. Greatly influenced by comedian Mort Sahl, Miller first performed standup at age 21, starting in Seattle and eventually in the late 1960's moving onto Southern California & Los Angeles comedy clubs, making his network television debut on ''The Tonight Show'' in 1976. Thereafter he appeared regularly on TV talk programs, Including The Mike Douglas Show, Dinah Shore and many others. Miller was a guest on NBC's '' Late Night with David Letterman'' and CBS' '' Late Show with David Letterman'' 56 times in two decades. He was a ‘clean comic’ with a sardonic wit. George Miller (1764 – 6 October 1848) was an Irish Anglican priest and historian of Trinity College, Dublin. He developed a course in modern European history at the college after being passed over for a professorship and appointed assistant to Francis Hodgkinson, professor of modern history at the college, who gave no lectures during his 41-year tenure. Miller's college lectures were published in eight parts between 1816 and 1828 and reissued in four volumes in 1832 as ''History, philosophically illustrated, from the fall of the Roman Empire, to the French Revolution'', which went through three editions. George Armitage Miller (February 3, 1920 – July 22, 2012) was an American psychologist who was one of the founders of cognitive psychology, and more broadly, of cognitive science. He also contributed to the birth of psycholinguistics. Miller wrote several books and directed the development of WordNet, an online word-linkage database usable by computer programs. He authored the paper, "The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two," in which he observed that many different experimental findings considered together reveal the presence of an average limit of seven for human short-term memory capacity. George Abram Miller
George Abram Miller (31 July 1863 – 10 February 1951) was an early group theorist. At age 17 Miller began school-teaching to raise funds for higher education. In 1882 he entered Franklin and Marshall Academy, and progressed to Muhlenberg College in 1884. He received his B.A. in 1887 and M.A. in 1890. While a graduate student, Miller was Principal of schools in Greeley, Kansas and then professor of mathematics as Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois. He corresponded with Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee for his Ph.D. in 1892. He then joined Frank Nelson Cole at University of Michigan and began to study groups. In 1895 he went to Europe where he heard Sophus Lie lecture at Leipzig and Camille Jordan at Paris. In 1897 he went to Cornell University as an assistant professor, and in 1901 to Stanford University as associate professor. George Miller (20 May 1939 – 26 December 2008) was a Scottish football player and manager. He was a member of the first Dunfermline Athletic side to win a major honour, the 1961 Scottish Cup. Playing career After leaving Larkhall Academy, Miller started playing for local side Royal Albert, where he would stay until 1959. He was signed by Dunfermline Athletic before the start of the 1959–60 season, instantly becoming a first-team regular as the ''Pars'' battled against relegation. The arrival of Jock Stein in 1960 transformed the side however, and against the odds they reached 1961 Scottish Cup final against Celtic.
