George McLaughlin
The Charlestown Mob was an Irish mob group in Charlestown, Boston, Charlestown, which figured prominently in the history of Boston, Massachusetts, Boston for much of the 20th century. The gang was headed by the McLaughlin brothers (Bernard "Bernie" McLaughlin, Bernie, Georgie, and Edward McLaughlin, Edward "Punchy" McLaughlin) and their associates brothers Stevie and Connie Hughes from Charlestown. Some of its notorious associates included Wilfred J. Delaney, Will Delaney, Harry Hannon, William Bennett, Edward Bennett, John Shackelford, Frank Murray, Leo Lowry, Ron Dermody and Joe "Rockball" O'Rourke. They were involved in the Winter Hill Gang#Irish Gang War, Irish Gang Wars of the early to mid-1960s against Somerville, Massachusetts, Somerville's Winter Hill Gang led by James McLean (mobster), James "Buddy" McLean. Charlestown, Boston
Charlestown is the oldest Neighborhoods in Boston, neighborhood in Boston, Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. Originally called Mishawum by the Massachusett tribe, it is located on a peninsula north of the Charles River, across from downtown Boston, and also adjoins the Mystic River and Boston Harbor waterways. Charlestown was laid out in 1629 by engineer Thomas Graves (engineer), Thomas Graves, one of its earliest settlers, during the reign of Charles I of England.
