The Kenya women's national basketball team represents Kenya in international competitions. Internationally they are known as the Kenyan Lionesses. Kenya Broadcasting Corporation
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is the state-run media organisation of Kenya. It broadcasts in English and Swahili, as well as in most local languages of Kenya. The corporation started its life in 1928 when Kenya was a British colony. It was the first station in Kenya. In 1964, when Kenya became an independent country, the corporation's name was changed to Voice of Kenya. In 1989, the Kenyan parliament reverted the corporation's name from Voice of Kenya to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. During the rule of president Daniel arap Moi, KBC became the mouthpiece of the government. Each broadcast opened with a piece on what the president had been doing that day. Under the then president, Mwai Kibaki, KBC took a more objective approach. The corporation helped most of Kenya's notable journalists especially before the liberalization of the airwaves in Kenya. 2021 Women's Afrobasket
The 2021 AfroBasket Women was the 25th edition of the tournament and held from 18 to 26 September 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The top two teams qualified for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Nigeria defended their title and won their fifth overall title after a finals win over Mali. Cameroon secured bronze on home soil by defeating Senegal. Seattle Redhawks Women's Basketball
The Seattle U Redhawks women's basketball is the women's basketball team representing Seattle University. They compete in the Western Athletic Conference. History The Redhawks returned to NCAA play the same as the athletic program, joining the WAC in 2012. They won the regular season title in 2013, though they lost in the conference tournament title game, losing 67–64 to Idaho. They were invited to the WNIT, their first ever postseason appearance in history. They lost 68–51 in the 2013 Women's National Invitation Tournament to Saint Mary's in the First Round. The following year, in 2014, they lost again in the conference tournament title game 75–67 to Idaho. The William & Mary Tribe women's basketball team represents the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in NCAA Division I competition. Kenya Ports Authority, commonly known as KPA, is a basketball club based in Mombasa, Kenya. Owned by the Kenya Ports Authority corporation, the team has competed in the KBF Premier League since first qualifying in 2008. The team made their debut in international competitions during the 2002 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup, losing all six games. In 2019, KPA made their debut in the Road to BAL competitions.
