George Knox
The Honourable George Knox PC, FRS (14 January 1765 – 13 June 1827), was an Irish Tory politician. Knox was the fifth son of Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland. In 1790, Knox entered the Irish House of Commons for Dungannon. Subsequently, he sat for Dublin University until the Act of Union in 1801. Thereafter Knox sat as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom Parliament and represented Dublin University from 1801 to 1807. Charles Knox (politician)
Charles C. Knox (April 19, 1929, Atlanta, Georgia – December 11, 2019, in Atlanta) was an American composer and music educator. He is particularly noted for his music for brass instruments and chamber music, among his over 100 compositions to date. Knox received a B.F.A. in music from the University of Georgia, where he joined the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity (Epsilon Lambda chapter) in 1950 and was later elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He subsequently earned both his M.Mus. and Ph.D. from Indiana University, where he studied composition with Bernhard Heiden. James Hamilton, Viscount Hamilton
James Hamilton, Viscount Hamilton (7 October 1786 – 27 May 1814) was a British nobleman and politician. Birth and education The eldest son of John Hamilton, 1st Marquess of Abercorn, James Hamilton was born at Petersham Lodge, Surrey, on 7 October 1786, and baptized on 4 November at Petersham. From the age of 5 Hamilton was tutored by his father's domestic chaplain, William Howley, who was later to become Bishop of London, and Archbishop of Canterbury. Later, he was educated at Harrow School, where he was a lieutenant, and then captain of volunteers in 1803. He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford on 24 October 1805. Political career Lord Abercorn intended to put Hamilton up as a candidate for County Donegal as soon as he could obtain sufficient interest there, or else for County Tyrone. Admiral Sir Charles Hamilton, 2nd Baronet KCB (25 May 1767 – 14 September 1849), was a British naval officer and commodore-governor of Newfoundland. Life Hamilton was born the eldest son of John Hamilton, a captain in the Royal Navy who had distinguished himself at the Battle of Quebec in 1775. Charles began his naval career at the age of nine on his father's ship, ''Hector''. John Leslie Foster
John Leslie Foster, FRS (c. 1781 – 10 July 1842) was an Irish barrister, judge and Tory Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom Parliament. In 1830 he was appointed a Baron of the Court of Exchequer of Ireland. He was the son of William Foster, Bishop of Clogher (1744-1797) and nephew of John Foster, 1st Baron Oriel. He was educated at Trinity College Dublin and St John's College, Cambridge.
