George Khoury (born in 1970) is the current eparch of the Eparchy of Our Lady of the Paradise in São Paulo of Greek Melkites. Biography George Khoury was born in Tartus, Syria, on 14 February 1970. In 1998 he was ordained deacon and on 14 April 1999 Khoury was ordained to the priesthood. On 17 June 2019 he was named eparch to the Eparchy of Our Lady of the Paradise in São Paulo. George Khoury (molecular Biologist)
George Khoury (1943 – April 25, 1987) was an American scientist who was chief of the molecular virology laboratory at the National Cancer Institute from 1980 to his death. He conducted early research with enhancers and was elected to membership in the National Academy of Sciences shortly before his death from lymphoma. Biography Born in Pittsburgh to George and Dorothy Khoury, he attended William Allen High School. Khoury graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Medical School. At Harvard, he received early research training from John Franklin Enders, and he began to study SV40 with Jan van der Noorda. After a year as a medical intern at Massachusetts General Hospital, Khoury joined NIH as a research associate. He conducted early investigations into transcription patterns in the SV40 genome. George Khoury (July 17, 1909 – January 8, 1998, Lake Charles, Louisiana) was an American pioneer swamp pop and cajun record producer known for co-writing and composing the No. 1 hit song "Sea of Love" by Phil Phillips as well as "Mathilda" by Cookie and his Cupcakes. His swamp pop, cajun and swamp blues recordings made a big impact on American popular culture. He recorded Nathan Abshire and the song "Pine Grove Blues". Later he would record Lawrence Walker and His Wandering Aces, Elise Deshotel with Dewey Balfa, Harry Choates, Jimmy Newman, and Phil Phillips with the Twilights. George Khoury Association of Baseball Leagues, or Khoury League, is a non-profit organization in St. Louis, Missouri that runs youth tee ball, baseball, and softball leagues internationally. It is the longest operating youth baseball program in the United States. The Khoury Association is operated by an all-volunteer Board of Governors. Local leagues can structure themselves in a way that can best serve their community; the Khoury Association sets few restrictions.
