George Isaac (producer)
George Isaac ( ar, جورج إسحق; 1938 – 9 June 2023) was an Egyptian politician and activist. During the later part of Hosni Mubarak's presidency, he co-founded the grassroots Kefaya opposition movement. Following the 2011 Egyptian Revolution that toppled Mubarak, Issac became a member of the Constitution Party and a critic of President Mohamed Morsi, elected in 2012. He was a member of the Coptic Catholic Church. Early years Born and raised in Port Said, Isaac graduated from Cairo University with a BA in history and began his career as a history teacher, headmaster and later as a consultant. Politically active at a young age, he joined the Fedayeen to oppose the British occupation of Egypt and resisted the invasion of Egypt during the Suez Crisis. He was a member of Egypt's Constitution Party. Port Said
Port Said ( ar, بورسعيد, Būrsaʿīd, ; grc, Πηλούσιον, Pēlousion) is a city that lies in northeast Egypt extending about along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, north of the Suez Canal. With an approximate population of 603,787 (2010), it is the List of cities and towns in Egypt, fifth-largest city in Egypt. The city was established in 1859 during the building of the Suez Canal. There are numerous old houses with grand balconies on all floors, giving the city a distinctive look. Port Said's twin city is Port Fuad, which lies on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal. The two cities coexist, to the extent that there is hardly any town centre in Port Fuad. The Coptic Catholic Church ( ar, الكنيسة القبطية الكاثوليكية; la, Ecclesia Catholica Coptorum) is an Eastern Catholic particular church in full communion with the Catholic Church. Along with the Ethiopian Catholic Church and Eritrean Catholic Church, it belongs to the Alexandrian liturgical tradition. Uniquely among the Alexandrian rite Eastern Catholic Churches, the Coptic Catholic Church uses the Coptic Rite and the Coptic language (derived from Ancient Egyptian, hence the name) in its liturgy.
