George Hart (Egyptologist)
George Hart (28 October 1945 – 15 February 2021) was a British Egyptologist. He studied classics and Egyptology at University College London. He was a staff lecturer in Egypt and the classical world at the British Museum from 1973 until his retirement in 2004. In addition to his museum work, he also taught Egyptian hieroglyphs and lectured on cruises. George Hart (physicist)
George A. Hart (fl. late 20th century) is a physicist and is best known in regard to his regular appearances on the Coast to Coast AM late-night radio talk show, and to a lesser extent for a discovery leading to an improvement of the rare gas halide excimer laser. Hart specialized in the application of supercomputers to the mathematical modeling of systems exhibiting extremely complex behavior. As a consultant to the Pentagon, he continues to work on the next generation of Strategic Defense Initiative technology. George Hart (politician)
George Hart (1820 – 19 August 1895) was a 19th-century Member of Parliament in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. Hart was born in Winchmore Hill in 1820. He was baptised on 10 February 1823 in St. Clement Dunes, London. He came to New Zealand with his elder brother Robert in 1843 on the ''Mary'', and he settled in Wellington. He returned to England for a visit in 1848, and upon his return, he settled in Canterbury and took up a large sheep run. He returned to the Wellington region in 1853, and he represented the Hutt electorate on the Wellington Provincial Council from August 1853 until February 1861. He was the council's third speaker from September 1859 until February 1861. He unsuccessfully contested the 1856 Hutt by-election, losing against William Fitzherbert and Samuel Revans. George Hart (rugby Union)
George Fletcher Hart (10 February 1909 – 3 June 1944) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A Rugby union positions#Wing, wing three-quarter, Hart represented at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1930 to 1936. He played 35 matches for the All Blacks including 11 internationals, scoring a total of 28 tries. Educated at Waitaki Boys' High School, where he played in the 1st XV rugby team in 1924 and 1925, Hart was the 1931 New Zealand national 100 yards champion, in a time of 10.4 seconds, although he finished second behind American athlete, George Simpson (runner), George Simpson. He married Maisie Chambers Harris of Christchurch on 1 April 1937. Hart served in the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War II, rising to the rank of captain in the 20th Armoured Regiment.
