George Gallaccio
George Gallaccio (born 23 December 1938) is a retired British television producer who previously worked as a production assistant and production unit manager. His most prominent work was as the producer on two BBC detective drama series, ''Miss Marple'' (1985–1992), based on the novels by Agatha Christie, and '' Bergerac'' (1988–1991), for which he was the final producer. Career He began his career at the BBC in the early-1970s. He was the production assistant on ''Moonbase 3'' (1973), which was created by the '' Doctor Who'' production team of Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks. He also worked as a production unit manager (PUM), a new role created at the BBC which meant that he was in charge of the budgets on a given production. Anya Gallaccio (born 1963) is a British artist, who creates site-specific, minimalist installations and often works with organic matter (including chocolate, sugar, flowers and ice). Her use of organic materials results in natural processes of transformation and decay, meaning that Gallaccio is unable to predict the end result of her installations. Something which at the start of an exhibition may be pleasurable, such as the scent of flowers or chocolate, would inevitably become increasingly unpleasant over time. The timely and site-specific nature of her work make it notoriously difficult to document. Her work therefore challenges the traditional notion that an art object or sculpture should essentially be a monument within a museum or gallery. Richard Graham Williams (24 May 1945 – 17 August 1990) was an English television producer, script editor and screenwriter. He produced three seasons of the BBC science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' during Tom Baker's era as the Fourth Doctor, the ITV children's series ''Super Gran'' (1986-1987), and thirteen episodes of '' Tales of the Unexpected'' (1982-1984). Biography Andrea Newman was born in Dover, Kent, the daughter of a reporter on the ''Kentish Mercury'' (who was born in India) and a mother who worked in an office during World War II (who was born in Jamaica). An only child, she taught at a grammar school after graduating with a degree in English from the Westfield College, University of London.
