George Fochive
George Fochive (born March 24, 1992) is an American soccer player. Career College and amateur Of Cameroonian descent, Fochive spent ten years of his early life in France where he played boarding school soccer at Lycée Godefroy de Bouillon in Clermont-Ferrand. He started his college soccer career at Hawaii Pacific University in 2010, where he spent two years before transferring to UConn in 2012. While at college, Fochive also appeared for USL PDL club Real Maryland Monarchs in 2011 and 2012. Professional Fochive was drafted in the third round of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft (39th overall) by the Portland Timbers, and was signed by the club in February 2014. Fochive was loaned to Portland's USL Pro affiliate club Sacramento Republic and made his debut on April 27, 2014, in a 1-2 defeat to Harrisburg City Islanders. Sacramento Republic FC is an American professional soccer team based in Sacramento, California, that plays in the Western Conference of the USL Championship, the second level in US soccer. Co-founded by Warren Smith and Joe Wagoner in 2012, the team started play in 2014 at the 20,231-seat Hughes Stadium, before moving midseason to their current home at Heart Health Park. Republic won the 2014 USL championship and have made the playoffs four times. UConn
The University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public land-grant research university in Storrs, Connecticut, a village in the town of Mansfield. The primary 4,400-acre (17.8 km2) campus is in Storrs, approximately a half hour's drive from Hartford and 90 minutes from Boston. It is the highest football league in Denmark and is currently contested by 12 teams each year, with two teams relegated. Penn FC (formerly the Harrisburg City Islanders) was an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2003, the team most recently played in the USL Pro, the second tier of the United States soccer league system. In October 2018, the club formally announced it will not participate in the 2019 season and would have resume play in 2020 as a member of USL League One, a league in the third tier. On November 15, 2017 the team was rebranded as Penn FC. The rebrand served in conjunction with a partnership with Rush Soccer youth development program. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy.
