George Eakins Browne
George Eakins Browne (1837-20 February 1923) was an Irish politician. He was born in 1837 to John Joseph Browne and Maria Eakins, of Brownstown, Ballinrobe, County Mayo. The family estate amounted to some 2,809 acres during Griffith's Valuation in the 1840s. He was elected in 1870 as a Member of Parliament for Mayo, and was re-elected at the 1874 general election. The election was declared void on 7 May 1874, but Browne was re-elected at the resulting by-election, and held the seat until the 1880 general election, when he was defeated by Charles Stewart Parnell. During the Parnell Commission, he was referred to as "one of the three good landlords in Ireland". He later moved to County Dublin and was, for a time, a member of Killiney Urban District Council. On his death, he lived at 14 Shanganagh Terrace, Killiney. Joseph Biggar
Joseph Gillis Biggar (c. 1828 – 19 February 1890), commonly known as Joe BiggarD.D. Sheehan, Ireland Since Parnell', London: Daniel O'Connor, 1921. or J. G. Biggar, was an Irish nationalist politician from Belfast. He served as an MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as member of the Home Rule League and later Irish Parliamentary Party for Cavan from 1874 to 1885 and West Cavan from 1885 to his death in 1890. Origins He was the eldest son of Joseph Bigger, merchant and chairman of the Ulster bank, by Isabella, daughter of William Houston of Ballyearl, Antrim. John O'Connor Power
John O'Connor Power (13 February 1846 – 21 February 1919) was an Irish Fenian and a Home Rule League and Irish Parliamentary Party politician and as MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland represented Mayo from June 1874 to 1885. From 1881, he practised as a barrister specialising in criminal law and campaigning for penal reform. Early radical years He was born in Clashaganny, County Roscommon and was the third son of Patrick Power from Ballinasloe and his wife Mary O'Connor of County Roscommon, during the Great Famine years. He contracted smallpox and spent some time in the Ballinasloe Fever hospital, which was housed in the workhouse. On the death of his parents he was raised by Catherine O'Connor Duffield in her home in Society Street. George Henry Moore (politician)
George Henry Moore (1 March 1810 – 19 April 1870) was an Irish politician, co-founder in the 1850s of the Tenant Right League, of the Catholic Defence Association and, as the Member for Mayo in the United Kingdom Parliament, of the Independent Irish Party. Although an advocate of tenant rights, and renowned for his relief efforts during the Great Famine, at the time of his death in 1870 Moore was defending his rights as a landowner against an oath-bound tenant society, the Ribbonmen. Charles Bingham, 4th Earl Of Lucan
Charles George Bingham, 4th Earl of Lucan, KP (8 May 1830 – 5 June 1914), styled Lord Bingham from 1839 to 1888, was an Irish peer and soldier. He was the eldest son of George Bingham, 3rd Earl of Lucan and Lady Anne Brudenell. His maternal grandparents were Robert Brudenell, 6th Earl of Cardigan and Penelope Anne Cooke. He was educated at Rugby School and entered the Army. He became Lieutenant-Colonel of the Coldstream Guards and served as aide-de-camp to his father, who commanded the cavalry division during the Crimea War. He succeeded his father to the earldom in 1888. He was elected a Member of Parliament for Mayo from 1865 to 1874.
