George Cooper (Poole MP)
George Cooper (1626–1689) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1654 and 1673. He fought in the Parliamentary army in the English Civil War. Life Cooper was the second son of Sir John Cooper, 1st Baronet of Rockbourne, Hampshire and was baptised on 15 December 1626. Throughout his life he was overshadowed by his brother Anthony Ashley Cooper. He was a student at Exeter College, Oxford in 1642. He joined the parliamentary army and was a captain by 1644 and major by 1646. He was commissioner for militia for Tower Hamlets from 1648 to 1649 and a J.P. for Middlesex from 1648 to July 1660. By 1649 he was also J.P. for Dorset.. From 1649 to February 1660 he was trustee for maintenance of ministers. In 1650 he was a member of the high court of justice. Felix Morrow
Felix Morrow (June 3, 1906 – May 28, 1988) was an American communist political activist and newspaper editor. In later years, Morrow left the world of politics to become a book publisher. He is best remembered as a factional leader of the American Trotskyist movement. Early life Felix Morrow was born Felix Mayrowitz to an Orthodox Jewish family in 1906 in New York City. His parents, emigrants from Eastern Europe, ran a small grocery store in the city. Morrow later recalled his upbringing in a letter to historian Alan Wald: I came from a Hassidic family, but my father at the age of 15 had fled in disillusionment from the house of the Chortkow Rebbe where his father was a gabbai (rabbai's assistant). Buster Cooper
George "Buster" Cooper (April 4, 1929 – May 13, 2016) was an American jazz trombonist. Career A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, Cooper played in a territory band with Nat Towles in Texas in the late 1940s and with Lionel Hampton in 1953. He played in the house band at the Apollo Theater in New York City in the mid-1950s, and following this he was in Benny Goodman's band. Late in the 1950s he and his brother Steve formed the Cooper Brothers Band. From 1962 to 1969, he was a trombonist in Duke Ellington's Orchestra. In 1973, he moved to Los Angeles, and played in jazz orchestras over the next several decades, including Bill Berry's band and The Capp-Pierce Juggernaut. He led a trio at a restaurant in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1993, Cooper appeared as a jazz trombonist in the film ''Murder Between Friends'', set in New Orleans. George Cooper (organist)
George Cooper (1820 – 1876) was an English organist and music educator. Born in Lambeth, Cooper was the son of organist George Cooper Sr (c.1783–1843). He succeeded his father as assistant organist at St Paul's Cathedral in 1838, having already substituted for his father periodically since 1832. He remained in that position for the rest of his life, also serving concurrently as organist at a variety of other smaller London churches. One of such positions was St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, where he was organist from 1843 to 1876, succeeding his father, and grandfather (c.1750–1799) in the post.
