George Coles (Cambridge University Cricketer)
George Coles (christened 19 October 1798 – 22 January 1865) was an English amateur cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1819 to 1820 for Cambridge University Cricket Club. Coles made only three known appearances in first-class matches but was a very successful bowler using a right-handed underarm style. In 1820, his tally of 17 was the highest by any first-class bowler that season. Educated at Eton and Peterhouse, Cambridge, George Coles later became ordained as a Church of England clergyman. George Coles (politician)
George Coles (September 20, 1810 – August 21, 1875) was a Canadian politician, being the first premier of Prince Edward Island, and a Father of Canadian Confederation. Coles was born in Queens Royalty, Prince Edward Island, the son of James Coles, a farmer, and Sarah Tally. Although he had little formal education he became a farmer and a businessman at an early age. He travelled to England at age 19. There he learned about the brewing industry. While in England he married Mercy Haine on August 14, 1833, and they returned to Prince Edward Island before the end of that year. He soon became a prosperous brewer and merchant. He first entered politics in 1841 representing the New London-DeSable district in the Assembly. Coles was always a colourful political figure. He is said to have duelled with Edward Palmer and to have challenged James C. Pope to a duel as well. George Edward Coles (11 February 1851 – 21 June 1903) was an Indian-born English amateur cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club. He was born in Ratnagiri in British India in 1851, the son of George and Letitia Coles. He grew up in India until he was sent to King's College School in London.George Coles

George Coles (architect)
George Coles (1884–1963) was an English architect, known mostly as a designer of Art Deco cinema theatres in the 1920s and 1930s. Coles was brought up in Leyton, East London and trained at Leyton Technical Institute. From 1912 he was in partnership with Percy Adams. Cole's most notable works include Troxy in Stepney, the Gaumont State Cinema in Kilburn and the Odeon, Muswell Hill, all of which are Grade II* listed buildings. Cole designed several other Odeon Cinemas for Oscar Deutsch, as well as the Carlton Cinema in Islington, and the Regal Cinema in Kettering. He designed the Kingsland Empire in his birthplace, Dalston, of which the ceiling and upper walls survive hidden above the Rio Cinema. He was the founder of what was to become the Coles Group retail shopping empire, a large chain store group in Australia.
