George Albert III, Count Of Erbach-Fürstenau
George Albert III, Count of Erbach-Fürstenau (14 June 1731 – 2 May 1778), was a member of the German House of Erbach who held the fiefs of Fürstenau, Michelstadt and Breuberg. Born in Fürstenau, he was the sixth child and third (but second surviving) son of Philipp Charles, Count of Erbach-Fürstenau and his second wife Anna Sophie, a daughter of Kaspar, Baron of Spesshardt in Unsleben and Mupparg. Life A minor at the time of his father's death in 1736, George Albert III and his older brother Louis II remained under the guardianship of their older half-brother Johann William until his death in 1742, when Louis II (aged 14) and George Albert III (aged 11) assumed the government jointly until 1747 when they divided their lands: George Albert III received the districts of Fürstenau, Michelstadt and Breuberg. Philipp Charles, Count of Erbach-Fürstenau (14 September 1677 – 2 June 1736), was a member of the German House of Erbach who held the fiefs of Fürstenau, Michelstadt and Breuberg. Born in Schönberg, he was the third child and second (but eldest surviving) son of George Albert II, Count of Erbach-Fürstenau and Anna Dorothea Christina, a daughter of Count Philipp Gottfried of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg. Life Like several others members of his family, Philipp Charles pursued a military career, and became General-major of the Franconian Circle. After the death of his father in 1717, he ruled jointly with his brothers over all their inheritance, although he managed to kept the sole government over him. In 1718 he became sovereign Lord of Breuberg. Philipp Charles died in Fürstenau aged 58 and was buried in Michelstadt. Count Henry of Stolberg-Wernigerode (25 September 1772 in Wernigerode Castle – 16 February 1854 in Wernigerode Castle) succeeded his father in 1824 as ruler of the County of Wernigerode. Life Count Henry was the eldest son of Count Christian Frederick of Stolberg-Wernigerode (1746–1824) and Countess Auguste Eleonore of Stolberg-Stolberg (1748–1821).
