Geoffrey Edmunds
Geoffrey Edmunds (born 2 September 1954) is an English cricketer. Edmunds was a right-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire and educated at Abbey High School, Redditch.Published under Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians. Edmunds made his debut for Shropshire in the 1986 Minor Counties Championship against Cheshire. Edmunds played Minor counties cricket for Shropshire from 1986 to 1993, which included 66 Minor Counties Championship appearances and 10 MCCA Knockout Trophy appearances. He made his List A debut against Hampshire in the 1988 NatWest Trophy. He made 4 further List A appearances, the last of which came against Somerset in 1993 NatWest Trophy. In his 8 List A matches, he scored 27 runs at with a high score of 24 not out. With the ball, he took 2 wickets at an average of 104.50, with best figures of 1/41. Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
Stoneleigh is a small village in Warwickshire, England, on the River Sowe, situated 4.5 miles (7.25 km) south of Coventry and 5.5 miles (9 km) north of Leamington Spa. The population taken at the 2011 census was 3,636. The village is about northeast of the confluence of the River Sowe and the River Avon. The village's church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Bowling Average
In cricket, a player's bowling average is the number of runs they have conceded per wicket taken. The lower the bowling average is, the better the bowler is performing. It is one of a number of statistics used to compare bowlers, commonly used alongside the economy rate and the strike rate to judge the overall performance of a bowler. When a bowler has taken only a small number of wickets, their bowling average can be artificially high or low, and unstable, with further wickets taken or runs conceded resulting in large changes to their bowling average. Due to this, qualification restrictions are generally applied when determining which players have the best bowling averages.
