Geoffrey G. Jones is a British-born business historian. He became a US citizen in 2010. He is currently Isidor Straus Professor of Business History at the Harvard Business School. The previous holders of this Chair, which was the first in the world in business history being founded in 1927, included Alfred D. Chandler, Jr. and Thomas K. McCraw. Jones's works have concentrated on the historical evolution of globalization, international banking and trading, and foreign direct investment by multinationals. He has published histories of Unilever, and has more recently written on the history of sustainable business worldwide. In 2017 he published a historical study of green entrepreneurship from the nineteenth century until the present day called ''Profits and Sustainability. His Honour Judge John Geoffrey Ramon Owen Jones (14 September 1928 – 14 June 2014) was a British judge. Early life and education Jones was born in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire, on 14 September 1928 to Wyndham C. Jones, the director of an electrical firm, and Lilias R. C. Jones (née Johns). His mother had two brothers: the elder, Howard Johns, was an Oxonian academic who became the rector of Pusey and Weston-on-the-Green; the younger, Mervyn Johns, was an actor who became a star of British films during the Second World War and the father of actress Glynis Johns. Educated first at St Michael's School, Llanelli, he later read law at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and University College London. Jones earned his Bachelor of Laws in 1955 and his Master of Laws in 1985.
