Genesys, or Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc., is an American software company that sells customer experience (CX) and call center technology to mid-sized and large businesses. It sells both cloud (computing), cloud-based and hybrid cloud software. The company was founded in 1990 and was acquired by investment firms Permira Funds and TCV (investment firm), Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) in February 2012. History Genesys was founded by Gregory Shenkkman and Alec Miloslavsky in October 1990. The company's original seed funding was $150,000 in loans from the founders' families. The company completed its initial public offering (IPO) in June 1997 and was listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol GCTI. In late 1999, Alcatel-Lucent (then Alcatel) acquired Genesys for $1.5 billion. In October 2007, Paul Segre succeeded Wes Hayden as Genesys's chief executive officer (CEO). Genesys is an online, global portal about plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. It is a gateway from which germplasm accessions from gene banks around the world can be easily found and ordered. The project started in 2008 by Bioversity International, the Global Crop Diversity Trust and the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, "to create a single information portal to facilitate the access to, and use of, accessions in ''ex situ'' gene banks". In May 2011, the first version of the website was launched, containing 2.3 million accession records and some three million phenotypic records for 22 crops: bananas, barley, beans, breadfruit, cassava, chickpeas, coconuts, cowpeas, faba beans, finger millet, grass peas, lentils, maize, pearl millet, pigeon peas, potatoes, rice, sorghum, sweet potatoes, taro, wheat and yams. Generalmusic was an Italian musical instrument manufacturing company focusing on digital and acoustic pianos, synthesizers and music workstations. The company produced three lines: a musical instrument series called GEM, a various studio equipment series called LEM and electric organs/synthesizers called ELKA. It was founded in 1987 and ceased business in 2009 before becoming bankrupt in 2011. History Early Years Generalmusic's first arranger workstation models were their WS series, released in 1990. Featuring a 5-track sequencer, 32 built-in arranger styles, and 32 user-programmable styles, they predated the General MIDI standard. This limited easy interoperability with other devices. Bennelong SwissWellness Cycling Team p/b Cervelo () was an Australian UCI Continental cycling team focusing on road bicycle racing. Based in Tasmania since its establishment in 2000, the team's original title sponsor was a Tasmanian restaurant chain, Praties, but Genesys Wealth Advisers, an Australian financial planning network, has taken over this role in 2010. The team was founded by Andrew Christie-Johnson and Steve Price. In 2014 team was the top ranked team in Australia's National Road Series (NRS). It has competed overseas in the Tour of Qinghai Lake (2.HC), Tour de Taiwan (2.2) and the Herald Sun Tour (2.1).
