Gemworld
Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld is a superhero published in American comic books created by DC Comics. Created by writers Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn and artist Ernie Colón, she debuted in ''The Legion of Superheroes'' #298 in April 1983. Born into the Amethyst royal family of Gemworld, a fictional dimension full of magic and magical creatures, her parents were killed shortly after her birth by her future archenemy, Dark Opal. She is hidden on Earth by a witch and is adopted into a family, given the name Amy Winston. Eventually, she travels to Gemworld on her thirteenth birthday, learning of her heritage and became Gemworld's chief protector by opposing the Lords of Chaos and their agents, including Dark Opal. ''DC Nation Shorts'' are animated shorts featuring characters from DC Comics that aired in a series on Cartoon Network on Saturdays at 10/9c. Production On March 3, 2012, the shorts premiered as part of the '' DC Nation'' block, produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Dan Mishkin
Dan Mishkin (born March 3, 1953) is an American comic book writer, and co-creator (with Gary Cohn) of the DC Comics characters Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld and Blue Devil. Biography As an adolescent, Dan Mishkin formed a writing partnership with Gary Cohn. Mishkin recounted We met in junior high school and we were part of a small crowd of good friends, who are still friends to this day. We talked and loved comic books and had a lot of other interests. Gary Cohn (born January 25, 1952) is an American comic book writer, and co-creator (with Dan Mishkin) of the DC Comics characters Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld and Blue Devil. Early life Gary Cohn attended Michigan State University earning his bachelor's degree in creative writing (liberal arts) and graduated from Bowling Green State University with an M.A. in 1980. Career Cohn and longtime friend Dan Mishkin entered the comics industry together following a correspondence with Jack C. Harris, an editor at DC Comics. Their first work for the company was the three-page short story "On the Day of His Return" published in ''Time Warp'' #3 (Feb.–March 1980) and drawn by Steve Ditko. The Lords of Chaos and Order are a complementary group of fictional supernatural entities appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. While alluded to since ''1st Issue Special'' #9 (December, 1975), the group would make their first physical appearance in ''DC Special Series'' #10 (1978). While the group is commonly associated with ''Doctor Fate'' titles, they also appear prominently in other comic titles. Depicted as powerful beings of magic representing concepts of order and chaos, both groups eternally struggle for supremacy. Young Justice
Young Justice is a fictional DC Comics superhero team consisting of teenaged heroes. The team was formed in 1998 when DC's usual teen hero group, the Teen Titans, had become adults and changed their name to the Titans. Like the original ''Teen Titans'', ''Young Justice'' was centered on three previously established teen heroes: Superboy (Kon-El), Superboy, Tim Drake, Robin, and Bart Allen, Impulse, but grew to encompass most teenaged heroes in the DC Universe. Ernesto Colón SierraColón in English translation of Via (July 13, 1931 – August 8, 2019) was a stateside Puerto Rican comics artist, known for his wide-ranging career illustrating children's, superhero, and horror comics, as well as mainstream nonfiction. Early life Colón was born July 13, 1931, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Ernesto Colón, a police detective, and Isabel Sierra, a textile worker and bank teller. ''Sword of Sorcery'' was an American sword-and-sorcery comics anthology featuring Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, heroes and rogues created by Fritz Leiber.
