Jennifer "Gemma" Jones (born 4 December 1942) is an English actress. Appearing on both stage and screen, her film appearances include ''Sense and Sensibility'' (1995), the ''Bridget Jones'' series (2001–2016), the ''Harry Potter'' series (2002–2011), ''You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger'' (2010), and ''Ammonite'' (2020). For her role in the BBC television film ''Marvellous'' (2014), she won the 2015 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress. ''Teacup Travels'' is a British children's drama TV series. The show was created and produced by PlumFilms with support from Creative Scotland and first shown on CBeebies on 9 February 2015. The concept of the series is historical fiction for young children, incorporating genuine historical artefacts into dramatic adventure stories. At the time of filming, all the artefacts featured in the show were held in museum collections around the UK. Concept Great Aunt Lizzie tells tales of adventure to entertain her young visitors, Charlotte, Lokesh and Elliot. When either one arrives at the house she offers them a cup of tea, but first they have to choose a teacup from her vast collection which she keeps in an enormous dresser in the kitchen. Old Vic Theatre
The Old Vic is a 1,000-seat, nonprofit organization, not-for-profit producing house, producing theatre in Waterloo, London, Waterloo, London, England. Established in 1818 as the Royal Coburg Theatre, and renamed in 1833 the Royal Victoria Theatre. In 1871 it was rebuilt and reopened as the Royal Victoria Palace. It was taken over by Emma Cons in 1880 and formally named the Royal Victoria Hall, although by that time it was already known as the "Old Vic". In 1898, a niece of Cons, Lilian Baylis, assumed management and began a series of William Shakespeare, Shakespeare productions in 1914. Giuseppina Strepponi
Clelia Maria Josepha (Giuseppina) Strepponi ( Lodi, 8 September 1815 – Villanova sull'Arda, 14 November 1897) was a nineteenth-century Italian operatic soprano of great renown and the second wife of composer Giuseppe Verdi. She is often credited with having contributed to Verdi's first successes, starring in a number of his early operas, including the role of Abigaille in the world premiere of ''Nabucco'' in 1842. The Royal National Theatre in London, commonly known as the National Theatre (NT), is one of the United Kingdom's three most prominent publicly funded performing arts venues, alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Opera House. ''Alfie'' is a 1963 stage play written by Bill Naughton. Developed from a radio drama, the original London production starred John Neville, and the Broadway transfer starred Terence Stamp. The play recounts the life of a working-class London ladies man, Alfie Elkins, and the many women who pass through his life. The play was adapted into a film twice, a 1966 version starring Michael Caine and a 2004 version starring Jude Law, with the location switched to Manhattan and the character being an ex-pat Cockney. The Mermaid Theatre was a theatre encompassing the site of Puddle Dock and Curriers' Alley at Blackfriars in the City of London, and the first built in the City since the time of Shakespeare.
