Gemechis
Gamachis is one of the Districts in the Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia. It is part of the West Hararghe Zone. It was part of former Chiro. Today, the capital of the woreda is called Kuni. It is located 20 miles from Chiro. The city is located on the top of a hill and its climate is 70% cold and cloudy. Gemechis woreda has many small cities located 20–45 miles away from each other. Sogido, Sire, Metadhab, and Degaga are the major ones. Transportation for commuting is a major problem of the woreda. Demographics The 2007 national census reported a total population for this woreda of 184,238, of whom 93,766 were men and 90,472 women; 3,863 or 2.1% of its population were urban dwellers. Chiro (woreda)
Nannawa Chiro is a Districts of Ethiopia, Aanaa in Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. Part of the West Hararghe Zone, Chiro is bordered on the south by Kuni (woreda), Kuni, on the west by Guba Koricha, on the northwest by Mieso, Oromia (woreda), Mieso, on the north by Doba (woreda), Doba, on the northeast by Tulo, and on the east by the Galetti River which separates it from Mesela (woreda), Mesela and the East Hararghe Zone. It is part of former Chiro district what was divided for Nannawa Chiro and Gemechis districts and Chiro Town. The highest peak in Chiro is Mount Arba Gugu (3574 meters). Khat is an important cash crop of this district, but because it is a very perishable commodity and must be cultivated not too far from major markets or good roads, it is grown along the main road. West Hararghe Zone
West Hararge () is a zone in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. West Hararghe takes its name from the former province of Hararghe. West Harerge is bordered on the south by the Shebelle River which separates it from Bale, on the southwest by Arsi, on the northwest by the Afar Region, on the north by the Somali Region and on the east by East Hararghe. Towns in West Hararghe include Chiro, Badessa, Gelemso, and Mieso. The highest point in this Zone is Mount Arba Gugu (3574 meters). Islam In Ethiopia
Islam is the second-largest religion in Ethiopia behind Christianity, with 31.3 to 35.9 percent of the total population of around 113.5 million people professing the religion as of 2022.
