Gellert Tamas
Gellert Tamas (born 1963) is a Swedish journalist and writer of Hungarian origin. Tamas has worked for ''Dagens Nyheter'', Sweden's leading daily newspaper, and as a journalist for TV4. Tamas is mostly known for his 2002 book ''Lasermannen – en berättelse om Sverige'' (The Laser Man – A story about Sweden). The book is about the life John Ausonius, a killer who shot people with foreign backgrounds, first with a rifle with a laser sight in Stockholm in the winter of 1991 and with a revolver caliber 38 in the spring of 1992. The book became a bestseller and was adapted into a mini TV-series for SVT in 2005. In 2017, the conspiracy theorist, far right magazine Nya tider published an article criticizing Gellert Tamas for having intentionally character assassinated psychiatrist Thomas Jackson after he stated that the apathetic children were victims of coerced child abuse. "Character Assassination" is a four-issue Spider-Man story arc written by Marc Guggenheim with art by John Romita, Jr. and published by Marvel Comics. The arc appears in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #584-#588. ''Uppdrag granskning'' (English name: ''Mission: Investigate'') is a Swedish television program focusing on investigative journalism. The program is produced by and aired on SVT and has become known for the use of concealed cameras and microphones. In April 2016, after an interview with ''Uppdrag granskning'', the Icelandic prime minister Sigmundur DavÃð Gunnlaugsson resigned, after a controversy concerning the Panama Papers. In 2017, as part of the programs reporting on the Paradise Papers they uncovered that the plane used to fly the crown princess and her newly wed husband from their marriage ceremony was registered in a tax haven. According to the program, the pilots who flew the couple have also been charged by Swedish court for tax avoidance. ''Expressen'' (''The Express'') is one of two nationwide evening newspapers in Sweden, the other being '' Aftonbladet''. ''Expressen'' was founded in 1944; its symbol is a wasp and its slogans are "it stings" or "''Expressen'' to your rescue". Overview The first edition of ''Expressen'' was published on 16 November 1944. A main feature that day was an interview with the crew members of a British bomber who were successful in sinking the German ship ''Tirpitz''. Asylum seekers with apathetic refugee children was a medical and political debate in Sweden in 2006 concerning asylum seekers who came to Sweden with apathetic children. The period was a subject of media coverage starting in 2002, with 55 cases and in 2005, it escalated to 424 cases. The refugees were mostly from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and former Yugoslavia. After a long heated debate, psychiatrist Thomas Jackson, the state investigation expert who held the controversial idea that the children were being abused and should be separated from their parents, was shut out of the debate. ''Nya tider'' () is a Swedish soap opera which was broadcast on TV4. It began after ''Skilda världar'' became a one-episode-a-week show. The show premiered in 1999 and got good ratings the first season, but they soon dropped.
