''Geeving'' is the debut studio album by Canadian electronicore band Abandon All Ships. It was released on October 5, 2010 on Universal Music Canada, Underground Operations, Rise Records, and Velocity Records. The album peaked at number 27 on the Canadian Hot 100, and number 16 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers chart. Abandon All Ships
Abandon All Ships is a Canadian metalcore band from Toronto, Ontario. Formed in 2006, it was signed domestically to Universal Music Canada via Underground Operations, along with an American deal to Rise Records and its imprint Velocity Records. History Formation and First EP (2006–2009) Abandon All Ships was founded in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, originally playing covers of Norma Jean songs. Most of the band members attended Dante Alighieri Academy, including lead vocalist Angelo Aita, keyboardist Sebastian Cassisi-Nunez, and original guitarist David Stephens; Toronto friends Martin Broda and Francesco Pallotta were added on bass and drums respectively. In 2007, Nick Fiorini was added on rhythm guitar. Mark Spicoluk is a Canadian musician, lifestyle content creator, and entrepreneur. He is best known as the vocalist and bassist for the punk rock band Closet Monster and, since 2014, working with his wife on their lifestyle brand/YouTube channel Boho Beautiful. Elena Sergeevna Katina (russian: link=no, Елена Сергеевна Катина; born 4 October 1984), better known as Lena Katina, is a Russian musician who gained fame as one half of the pop/electronica duo t.A.T.u. She started her career at the age of eight, joining the Russian children's act Avenue, soon after that joining Neposedy. It was released as the first single from their debut album, ''Geeving''. The single was released on iTunes on June 29, 2010, followed by the music video being released on June 30, 2010, where it premiered on VH1. Background The song was written by the group prior to the release of their self-titled EP. At that time, "Take One Last Breath" was titled "Pedestrians Is Another Word for Speedbump". Underground Operations was an independent punk rock record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1995, the label was originally based in Ajax, Ontario. Operated by Mark Spicoluk, former Closet Monster member and former bass player for Avril Lavigne, this label was one of the most successful independent labels in Canada. ''Infamous'' is the second studio album by Canadian electronicore band Abandon All Ships. It was released on July 3, 2012, through Rise Records. On January 18, 2012, the band announced that they were in the process or recording their second studio album, which they initially intended for a late-spring or early-summer release. Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres. Genres Classical and experimental music Although screams are often suggested in stories performed in the grand opera tradition, they were never performed literally, always being sung. The first significant example of an actual scream in an opera is in Alban Berg's ''Wozzeck'' (1922), where the eponymous character screams "Murder! Murder!" in the fourth scene of Act III.
