Bartholomew Gedney
Bartholomew Gedney (June 14, 1640 – February 28, 1698)''Collections of the Maine Historical Society'', Volume 2 (1902), p. 179 was a merchant, physician, military officer, and native of Salem, Massachusetts. He is best known as one of the magistrates in the Salem witchcraft trials. Life Bartholomew Gedney was born in Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. His father, John Gedney, was one of Salem's founders and leading citizens, and Bartholomew followed in his father's footsteps. He served as a selectman of the town, and was involved in the local militia, rising to the rank of colonel. He was offered command of an expedition against Port Royal, Acadia, in 1690, but refused. In 1674, while a resident of Yarmouth, Maine, he went into business with Englishman Henry Sayward. They built the town's first grist mill at the First Falls. He also built two sawmills. Gedney was present at several of the examinations and later served as a member of the Court of Oyer and Terminer. ...

Christopher Joseph Gedney (August 9, 1970 – March 9, 2018) was an American college and professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. He played college football for Syracuse University, and earned All-American honors. He played professionally for the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. Nicky "Nick" Gedney is an English former professional darts player who competed in British Darts Organisation (BDO) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Career Gedney was one of eight qualifiers who took part in the 1994 BDO World Darts Championship and caused a major shock in the first round, coming from two sets down to beat number one seed Steve Beaton 3-2, hitting checkouts of 161 and 158 in the process, with the 161 being the highest checkout of the tournament. He eventually lost in the second round to Kevin Kenny. He returned to Lakeside seven years later in the 2001 BDO World Darts Championship, but lost in the first round to Peter Hinkley. William Gale Gedney (October 29, 1932 – June 23, 1989) was an American documentary and street photographer. It wasn't until after his death that his work gained momentum and is now widely recognized.
