Zef Gashi ( Cyrillic: Зеф Гаши / ''Zef Gaši''; born 4 December 1938) is an ethnic Albanian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church in Montenegro. Mirko Gashi ( sr-cyr, Мирко Гаши, Mirko Gaši; 2 January 1939 – July 1995) was an Albanian writer. Born in Kralje, he studied journalism in Belgrade and worked as a journalist in ''Flaka e vëllazërimit'' in Skopje and in Radio Prishtina. He wrote poetry during the 1980s, producing collections ''Gjarpëri i shtëpise'' (The House Snake) (1980); ''Arbor vitae'' (The Tree of Life) (1988); and ''Plagë uji'', (Water Wound) (1990). Gashi (tribe)
Gashi is an Albanian surname and the name of one of the major historical tribes of northern Albania. It is a historical tribal region situated in the Highlands of Gjakova. The Gashi tribe is known to follow the ''Kanuni i Malësisë së Madhë'', a variant of the Kanun. They were known among the mountain tribes for their wisdom. Geography Gashi is one of the most widespread Albanian tribes in northern Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. Their tribal territory corresponds to the District of Tropoja and District of Gjakova in Albania and Kosovo respectively; it extends from the east of the town of Bajram Curri to villages such as Botushë and Koshare in Kosovo. Labinot Gashi (; born 4 October 1989), known mononymously as Gashi (stylised as GASHI), is a Libyan-Albanian rapper, singer and songwriter. Biography Labinot Gashi was born in Libya, on October 4, 1989, to ethnic Albanian parents from Kosovo. He spent his childhood as a refugee in several African and European countries before settling in Brooklyn, New York City, at the age of 10. Struggling to pick up the English language, he turned to music to help ease his adjustment into society, and quickly became hooked to rap. Gashi graduated from New Utrecht High School and earned a football scholarship to play at a Division 2 school in Massachusetts (American International College).
