Gaëtan Jabeemissar
Gaetan Jabeemisar is a Mauritian politician who served as the Chief Commissioner of Rodrigues from 12 January 2011 to 11 February 2012. He assumed the position following the resignation of the former Chief Commissioner, Johnson Roussety, who was under a motion of no confidence. Hailing from the village of Corail-Petite-Butte on Rodrigues island, Jabeemissar completed his secondary studies before working in education for 27 years. He left this job to enter politics as a member of the Rodrigues Movement party, and was elected to the Rodrigues Regional Assembly during its first elections in 2002. He was re-elected in 2006 and rose to the position of Deputy Chief Commissioner. After the forced resignation of Chief Commissioner Johnson Roussety, Jabeemissar was sworn in to the same position by President Anerood Jugnauth on 12 January 2011. Johnson Roussety
Johnson Roussety is the current Chief Commissioner of Rodrigues in Mauritius. He held the same position from 4 August 2006 until 7 January 2011. Early life and education Roussety was born on 27 August 1975. He attended Oysterbay Government School in Rodrigues as well as Grand Bay and NicolayGovt Schools in Mauritius. He studied up to HSC at the Rodrigues College in Port Mathurin from 1987 to 1993. He ranked first in his HSC cohort in Rodrigues and was a laureate winning a four-year university scholarship from France's government. He attended the University de la Reunion, where he completed a DEUG in science economics from 1994 to 1996. In 1997 he was awarded a degree in econometrics from the University of the Mediterranean - Aix - Marseille 2. Rodrigues (french: Île Rodrigues, link=yes ; Creole: ) is a autonomous outer island of the Republic of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, about east of Mauritius. Anerood Jugnauth
Sir Anerood Jugnauth, GCSK, PV, (29 March 1930 – 3 June 2021) was a Mauritian politician and barrister who served both as President and Prime Minister of Mauritius. He was Member of Parliament for Piton & Riviere Du Rempart. A central figure of Mauritian politics in the 1980s and 1990s, he was Leader of the Opposition from 1976 to 1982. He served as Prime Minister from 1982 to 1995 and again from 2000 to 2003. He was then elected as President of Mauritius and served as such from 2003 to 2012. Following his party's victory in the 2014 general elections, he was appointed again to serve his sixth term as Prime Minister by President Kailash Purryag on 14 December 2014. He served four consecutive terms as Prime Minister from 1982 to 1995 and was then voted out of office from 1995 to 2000.
