Gayl King
Gayl King (born 29 December 1963) is a Canadian former professional darts player. She was the first woman to be invited by the darts organization Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to complete in the PDC World Darts Championship in the 2001 PDC World Darts Championship, 2001 tournament and was the winner of several regional and national darts competitions in Canada. Personal background King was born and raised in a small community in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador and has fourteen siblings. She has two grown-up sons, and worked as a Bookkeeping, bookkeeper for a restaurant chain in Edmonton, Alberta prior to her debut in the PDC World Darts Championship. The 2004 Las Vegas Desert Classic, promoted at the time as the Las Vegas Desert Classic III, was the third year that the Professional Darts Corporation held a major darts tournament in the United States. It was held between 30 June and July 4, 2004. The tournament was held at the MGM Grand Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada and was broadcast in the UK by Sky Sports. The layout of the playing hall had been modified from the previous year, and attracted larger crowds. Peter Manley, who went on to win the title the previous year, lost his title defence to fellow compatriot Kevin Painter in the second round, by 3 sets to 0. Francisca ("Francis") Hoenselaar (born 15 January 1965 in Rotterdam, South Holland) is a retired Dutch professional darts player from the Netherlands. She was nicknamed ''The Dutch Crown''. A leading player in the women's game, Hoenselaar was the 2009 British Darts Organisation Women's World Darts Champion, having defeated Trina Gulliver in the final. Prior to this, she had been runner-up no fewer than five times - each time losing to Gulliver. Achievements A Netherlands native, Hoenselaar has won the Dutch title fifteen times. Graeme Stoddart
Graeme Stoddart (born 30 July 1959 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is a former English–Dutch professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation events. His nickname was Shark. Career Stoddart represented Holland in the 1984 European Cup. He came to prominence after being invited from the WDC rankings for the inaugural WDC World Darts Championship in 1994. He was drawn in Group 8, where he defeated Jocky Wilson, before being knocked out in the final group match by the eventual champion, Dennis Priestley. He entered many majors in the early years of the WDC/PDC, eventually reaching the quarter-finals of the 1998 World Grand Prix, beating Paul Lim, and where he lost to Rod Harrington.
