The Gay Party ( it, Partito Gay), whose full name is ''Partito Gay per i diritti LGBT+, Solidale Ambientalista e Liberale'' ("Gay Party for LGBT+ Rights, Solidary, Environmentalist and Liberal"), is an Italian political group, being the first one specifically aimed at defending the rights of sexual diversity. History The origins of the party date back to 2018, when Fabrizio Marrazzo (LGBT activist, spokesman for the Gay Center and former president of Arcigay in Rome) registered on 30 August the "Partito Gay" brand, which included a logo containing a band with the colours of the LGBT flag and the phrase "Europe Italy" at the top. At that time, Marrazzo pointed out that the party was in an embryonic stage waiting to be able to develop it at a massive level in future elections and he hoped to capture between 6% and 15% of the votes. LGBT Rights In Italy
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights in Italy significantly advanced in the 21st century, although LGBT people still face some legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. According to ILGA-Europe's 2021 report, the status of LGBT rights in Italy is the worst among Western European countries – such as still legally banning same-sex marriage, no discrimination protections for goods and services and also lacking any parental rights for same-sex couples within adoption and IVF. In Italy, both male and female same-sex sexual activity has been legal since 1890, when a new Penal Code was promulgated. A civil union law was passed in May 2016, providing same-sex couples with many of the rights of marriage. Stepchild adoption was, however, excluded from the bill, and it is currently a matter of judicial debate. Raffaella Maria Roberta Pelloni (18 June 1943 – 5 July 2021), better known as Raffaella Carrà (), was an Italian singer, dancer, television presenter, actress and model. She was well known in Europe and Latin America as a result of her many television shows and records. The Five Star Movement ( it, Movimento 5 Stelle , M5S) is a political party in Italy. Its leader and president is Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy from 2018 until 2021. The M5S was founded on 4 October 2009 by Beppe Grillo, a comedian and blogger, and Gianroberto Casaleggio, a web strategist. 2021 Turin Municipal Election
The 2021 Turin municipal election took place in Turin, Italy, on 3 and 4 October 2021, to elect the mayor and the 38 members of the Turin city council. Since no mayoral candidate won a majority of votes on the first round, a runoff was held on 17 and 18 October 2021. The second round was won by the centre-left coalition candidate Stefano Lo Russo, member of the Democratic Party, who was officially inaugurated as new mayor of Turin on 27 October 2021.
