Gavin School District 37
Gavin School District 37 is a school district located in Lake County, Illinois, about 40 miles north of Chicago. It governs two public schools: Gavin South Middle School (Grades 5 to 8) and Gavin Central Elementary School (up to Grade 4), both in Ingleside, Illinois. History The schools are named after a farmer who lent some of his land to be used as a school in the 1840s. Prior to the 1995–96 school year, there were three Gavin schools: Central, North and South. Central housed Pre-K to 3rd grades, North 4th and 5th grades, and South 6th to 8th grades. In 1996 Gavin Central school was rebuilt. From 1996 to 2003, North housed Pre-K to 1st grades, Central 2nd to 5th grades and South 6th to 8th grades. Then, for the 2003-04 year, Pre-K to 5th was at Central. Ingleside, Illinois
Ingleside is an unincorporated community in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Ingleside is between Fox Lake, Round Lake Heights, and Lake Villa. Geography Ingleside is on Squaw Creek between Long Lake, Duck Lake, and Fox Lake. Ingleside lies below the Long Lake Dam and above Fox Lake. Duck Lake and most of the Long Lake area are part of Ingleside. Ingleside also goes northeast to Lake Villa. Notable locations include the Old Grant Township Hall (home of the Grant Township Museum), the Long Lake Dam, the Fox Lake bike trail, Dry Dock Laundromat, and Dog n Suds, a 1950s-style drive-up complete with intercoms for ordering and carhops to bring customers their food. Lakes Community High School, or LCHS, is a public four-year high school located in Lake Villa, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Community High School District 117, which also includes Antioch Community High School. History Lakes Community High School opened to 600 freshman and sophomore students on August 23, 2004. Voters approved the bond referendum to construct a second high school for District 117 in 2000.
