Gavin Peers
Gavin Peers (born 10 November 1985) is an Irish football coach and former player, who is currently the first-team coach at Longford Town. Career Peers started his footballing career at Blackburn Rovers, and later moved to Mansfield Town, where he made 30 total appearances. He was signed for Sligo Rovers by Sean Connor following the club's promotion to the Premier Division and played regularly at right-back that year. The following year following the departure of centre-backs Michael McNamara and Liam Burns Peers moved into the centre of defence. Injuries forced him to miss much of the 2009 League of Ireland season and his presence was badly missed. He did recover in time to take his place in the team for the 2009 FAI Cup Final, but it would end in disappointment with Sporting Fingal winning 2-1. The 2009 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 25th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The division was made up of 10 teams. Each team played every other team four times, totalling 36 matches. On the final day of the regular season Bohemians were crowned League of Ireland champions for the eleventh time in the club's history after drawing 1–1 with Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds. The Showgrounds (Sligo)
The Showgrounds is a stadium in Sligo, which has been home of Sligo Rovers since Rovers were formed in 1928. Overview The Showgrounds was leased until 1968 when it was then purchased for Sligo Rovers by a trust foundation representing the people of Sligo. Under the terms of the purchase it can never be mortgaged, sold or used for any commercial purposes other than sport and leisure. The Showgrounds is a 12 acre (49,000 m²) site with the stadium capacity of 3,873 seats. On 8 November 1978 Sligo opened their new covered accommodation on the Jinks Avenue in a FAI League Cup semi final against Shamrock Rovers. Jason McGuinness
Jason McGuinness (born 8 August 1982) is an Irish footballer. Career McGuinness played at youth level for Tolka Rovers, Sheriff Y.C. and Bohemians before graduating to the Bohs first team, making his league debut as a substitute against UCD in August 2002. He made his Irish Under 21 debut four days later in an international against Finland. With the likes of Colin Hawkins and Ken Oman in his way of regular first team football, he joined rivals Shamrock Rovers and spent 2 seasons scoring 7 goals in 57 total appearances there where he established himself at the heart of their defence before re-joining Bohs in time for the 2006 season. Conor O'Grady (born 27 May 1980) is a former Irish footballer who last played for Ballinamallard United. For his home town club he was sent off in a 2009–10 UEFA Europa League tie against Albanian side Vllaznia. Dalymount Park (Irish: ''Páirc Cnocán Uí Dhálaigh'') is a football stadium in Phibsborough on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. It is the home of Bohemian F.C., who have played there since the early 20th century. Affectionately known as Dalyer by fans, it was also historically the "home of Irish football", holding many Irish internationals and FAI Cup finals. The League of Ireland Cup ( ga, Corn Sraithe na hÉireann), also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', is an annual knockout competition in men's football in the Republic of Ireland. It is contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Republic of Ireland football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup. It has had several formats since its inception and has been a knock-out competition since 2005. As there is no European qualification for winners of the League of Ireland Cup, it has a lower status than the FAI Cup and is therefore seen as the third most important trophy in the Irish playing season.
