Gauthier Descloux
Gauthier Descloux is a Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with Genève-Servette HC of the National League (NL). He previously played with HC Ajoie of the Swiss League (SL) and with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the National League (NL). Playing career Descloux made his professional debut with Genève-Servette HC during the 2014–15 season. The next year he was loaned to HC Ajoie for most of the season, including the 2016 SL playoffs. Descloux posted a .936 save % during the playoffs with a 1.77 GAA to lead Ajoie to the Swiss League title. Descloux was loaned to HC Ambrì-Piotta to start the 2016/17 season. He played 16 games for the team, as well as 4 SL games with their affiliate, the Ticino Rockets. He again started the 2017/18 season on loan with Ambri-Piotta but was called back by Geneva at the start of the season to replace injured Robert Mayer. Genève-Servette HC
The Genève-Servette HC (also called Servette or GSHC) is a professional ice hockey club based in Geneva, Switzerland and competing in the National League (NL), the top tier of the Swiss hockey league system. The team plays their home games at the Patinoire des Vernets, which has a seating capacity of 7,135. The team is currently the oldest team in the NL, being founded in 1905. Robert Mayer (ice Hockey)
Robert Mayer (born October 9, 1989) is a Czech-born Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with Genève-Servette HC of the National League (NL). He first played professional with the Kloten Flyers of the NL before signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens in 2008. Playing career In his five seasons within the Canadiens organization, Mayer played primarily with American Hockey League affiliate the Hamilton Bulldogs. On May 22, 2014, Mayer was placed and cleared unconditional waivers in order to be mutually released from his contract with the Canadiens. On June 6, 2014, Mayer returned to the NL, signing a three-year contract with Genève-Servette HC. On June 21, 2017, Mayer was signed to a four-year contract extension by Geneva. The Deutschland Cup is an in-season international ice hockey tournament hosted by the German Ice Hockey Federation which has been contested in most years since 1987. Early years (1987–1997) In 1987, the German Ice Hockey Federation created the Deutschland Cup as an official international tournament. Stuttgart served as a site for the first years of the tournament, with at least one game taking place in the Baden-Württemberg capital every year through 1996, except 1991, when the tournament was played at the Eissporthalle Frankfurt. Ulm, Bietigheim and Pforzheim in 1993 and Pforzheim and Neu-Ulm in 1994 also served as tournament sites. Over the years, the tournament format has changed frequently. National League (ice Hockey)
The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and is the top tier of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the KHL with 6,397 and the DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. The ZSC Lions are another club in the top ten of European ice hockey attendance, ranking seventh with 9,694 spectators. Season structure During the regular season, each of the 14 teams play 52 games.
