The ''Nyāya Sūtras'' is an ancient Indian Sanskrit text composed by , and the foundational text of the Nyaya school of Hindu philosophy. Indrabhuti Gautama
Gautam Swami was the ''Ganadhara'' (chief disciple) of Mahavira, the 24th and last Jain Tirthankara of present half cycle of time. He is also referred to as Indrabhuti Gautam, Guru Gautam, Gautam Swami Ganadhara and Gautam Swami. Life Gautama was the senior-most of 11 ''ganadharas'' (chief disciples) of Mahavira. He had two brothers Agnibhuti and Vayubhuti who also became ''ganadhara'' of Mahavira. Other ''ganadhara'' were Vyakta, Sudharmaswami, Mandikata Mauryaputra, Akampita, Acalabharata, Metarya and Prabhasa. Gautama Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama, most commonly referred to as the Buddha, was a wandering ascetic and religious teacher who lived in South Asia during the 6th or 5th century BCE and founded Buddhism. According to Buddhist tradition, he was born in Lumbini, in what is now Nepal, to royal parents of the Shakya clan, but renounced his home life to live as a wandering ascetic ( sa, śramaṇa). After leading a life of begging, asceticism, and meditation, he attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya in what is now India. Gautama Maharishi
Gautama Maharishi ( sa, महर्षिः गौतम, ), was a sage in Hinduism, who is also mentioned in Jainism and Buddhism. Gautama is mentioned in the Yajurveda, Ramayana, and Gaṇeśa Pūrana and is known for cursing his wife Ahalyā, after she unknowingly had sex with Indra. Another important story related to Gautama is about the creation of river Godavari, which is also known as Gautami. Children According to Valmiki Ramayana, Gautama's eldest son with Ahalyā is Satananda. But according to Adi Parva of Mahabharata, he had two sons named Saradvan and Cirakari. Gautam Rajput
The Gautam Rajputs is a Rajput clan found in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Jodha Singh Attaiya a great chieftain during Indian rebellion of 1857 also belongs to this ancient clan. History Some people fought for Sher Shah Suri (otherwise known as Sher Khan) against Humayun in the 16th century. Gautam is a surname of Nepalese origin modified from the anterior surname Gotāmé and the original homeland of the surname identified as Gotamkot in western Nepal. Origin Due to religious prosecutions initiated by the Muslim conquest in the Indian subcontinent, it is believed that Kāshidās - a learned scholar and versed in the four Vedas, arrived in Sinja of the Khasa Kingdom from medieval India around 12th century CE "to protect Dharma" and was received with royal respect and honor by the King of Sinja. Gautam Choudhury (born 24 April 1940) is an Indian musician and amateur archivist most known for his efforts to collect and record the work of Salil Chowdhury (Salilda). He has recorded several instrumental albums on which he plays harmonica, recorded tribute albums to Salilda's legacy, and runs the website The World of Salil Chowdhury, an online database of Salil Chowdhury's work, including rare or unpublished compositions.
