Gaumee Film Awards
The Gaumee Film Awards aka Dhivehi Film Awards are presented by National Centre for the Arts to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Maldivian film industry. The Gaumee Film Award ceremony is the oldest film events in Maldives. The ceremony had been sponsored by various private organisations in the past as well as in present provisions. A live ceremony was broadcast to television audiences. History A meeting was arranged at MCM on 30 October 1993, once the government decides to hold a Film Festival to honor the film industry. The awards were first introduced in 1994. Out of the twenty two people invited from the fraternity, only ten people showed up for the meeting. Mariyam Majudha
Mariyam Majudha (born 18 March 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Career Majudha made her film debut in the Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq-directed ''Hulhudhaan'' as Sama (2014) alongside Roanu Hassan Manik, which was a critical success. The film was later screened at the Venice Film Festival. Her performance as Sama, a drug addict, received a positive response from the critics. The following year, she appeared in the Ali Shifau-directed romantic film '' Emme Fahu Vindha Jehendhen'' opposite Mohamed Jumayyil, where she portrayed the role of Meera. The film, along with Majudha's acting, was critically acclaimed. In a pre-premiere review from ''Vaguthu'', Ismail Nail praised Jumayyil and Majudha's chemistry in the film and mentioned that she delivered each expression to "absolute perfection". The film was the highest grossing Maldivian film of the year, and was a commercial success. Aminath Noora
Aminath Noora (born 11 February 1986) is a Maldivian actress. Career In 2004, Noora made her screen debut with a video single directed by Mohamed Niyaz and rendered by Fazeela Amir. Titled "Jaadhooga Jeheyney", the song topped several charts and was a hit, resulting in another video collaboration with Niyaz. Titled "Visnaa Visnaa", the song marks the first Maldivian single aired through MTV (India). ''Vaashey Mashaa Ekee'' () is a 2016 Maldivian romantic comedy film directed by Ali Shifau.
