English Language
English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. Ben Gathercole
Ben Gathercole (born 1965) is an Australian high-performance triathlon coach, sports manager and author. Family and education Gathercole was born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1965 and spent his early years in Texas, U.S. where his father had been invited to set up a swimming team by the City of Midland. The family returned to Killarney Heights, a suburb of Sydney, in 1973. Gathercole attended Killarney Heights Public School and Killarney Heights High School, graduating Year 12 in 1984. He returned to the U.S. after winning a swimming scholarship to study at Indian River State College, Florida and later transferred to Florida State University, where he studied to be a physical education teacher. Cory James Gathercole (born 2 December 1986 in Irymple, Victoria) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia. Career Gathercole first came to British speedway when he joined the Swindon Robins squad in the Elite League for the 2007 Elite League speedway season and the Isle of Wight Islanders for the 2007 Premier League speedway season. He was part of the Isle of Wight four who won the Premier League Four-Team Championship, held on 8 July 2007, at the East of England Arena. Susan Elizabeth Gathercole was the Unit Director at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit. from 2011 until 2018. She is a research psychologist, best known for her studies into working memory deficits in children. She has worked extensively with Professor Alan Baddeley, the co-creator, along with Professor Graham Hitch, of arguably the most well-researched working memory model. In 2014 she was elected a Fellow of the British Academy, the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and social sciences. Gathercole's findings have demonstrated the link between working memory deficits in children and poor academic performance. Furthermore, she has contributed to recent research showing that working memory deficits can be overcome with computerised, adaptive working memory training. Terry Gathercole
Terrence Stephen Gathercole (25 November 1935 – 30 May 2001), was an Australian breaststroke swimmer of the 1950s and 1960s, who won a silver medal in the 4x100-metre medley relay at the 1960 Summer Olympics. He later became a swimming coach, at one stage being the Australian female team coach for the 1964 Summer Olympics and guiding numerous breaststroke students to Olympic and World Championship gold medals. He also served as the president of Swimming Australia. Biography Born in Tallimba, New South Wales. He grew up in West Wyalong, New South Wales where he lived throughout his school years. In 1957, he married Carol Fraser and they had three children – Gai, Ben and Tim.
