The Gateway (Salt Lake City)
The Gateway is a large, open-air retail, residential, and office complex in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is centered on the historic Union Pacific Depot on the west side of Downtown Salt Lake City between 50 North and 200 South streets and between 400 and 500 West streets. Rio Grande Street has been the site of many special events and becomes a one-way street and heads north through the center. The center has featured as many as 89 outlets, but recent changes have allowed the center to provide new retail shopping experiences and become more of a social gathering place centered on dining and nightlife. The Gateway cost $375 million and began as part of the city's urban redevelopment project, and the first phase was done prior to the 2002 Winter Olympics that was held in Utah. Gateway Fashion Mall (formerly Gateway Mall) is an enclosed shopping mall in Bismarck, North Dakota. Opened in 1979, the mall has more than 30 successful stores. The anchor stores are Harbor Freight Tools, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Planet Fitness, Mid Dakota Clinic, and AMC Theatres. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Conlin's Furniture. History The mall was opened in September 1979 with anchor stores Sears, A.W. Lucas & Co., and White Mart. The mall originally featured a three-screen movie theater and food court to complement the three anchor stores and several in-line tenants. Prescott Gateway
Prescott Gateway Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Prescott, Arizona. Opened on March 8, 2002, it includes JCPenney, Dillard's, and Bed Bath & Beyond as its anchor stores. History Westcor first announced plans to build a mall east of Prescott on Arizona State Route 69 in 1998. The decision was met with local opposition from members of the community, and petitioned for a referendum after city council approved a change in zoning. Under Westcor's original plans, the proposed mall would have JCPenney, Sears and Dillard's as anchor stores. The former two stores were already anchors at an existing mall, Ponderosa Plaza, but the managers of both stores considered their existing locations too small.
