''GateWar'', a fantasy role-playing game published by Escape Ventures in 1994, is the retitled third edition of the role-playing game '' Element Masters''. Publication history In the early 1980s, Kenneth D. Burridge designed a fantasy role-playing game called ''Element Masters'' that was published by Escape Ventures in 1983 as a 100-page book. The following year, Escape Ventures released a revised and expanded 160-page second edition. Ten years later, in 1994, Kenneth Burridge and Robert Finkbeiner designed a greatly expanded 270-page third edition retitled ''GateWar'', which was also published by Escape Ventures. Element Masters
''Element Masters'' is a role-playing game published by Escape Ventures in 1983 that mixes elements of fantasy and science fiction. Gameplay The setting of ''Element Masters'' is the world of Vinya, where magic and technology mix. The PCs are all users of the forgotten discipline of Element Magic. Character generation Character generation starts by choosing a race: humans, elves, dwarves, unspeakables (half-sized humans) and half-trons. Each race has advantages and disadvantages. The referee may also offer players the option to play one of the game's monsters as a character race. Once the race has been chosen, the player then rolls five 4-sided dice for each of the character's eight abilities (Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Magic Points, Appearance, and Luck). ''Shadis'' is an independent gaming magazine that was published in 1990–1998 by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG). It initially focused on role-playing games. Publication history Shadis was conceived and started by Jolly Blackburn as an independent gaming fanzine in 1990. In 1993, Blackburn formed Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) to publish Shadis as a quality small-press magazine, and brought on John Zinser and David Seay as partners. ''White Wolf'' is a game magazine that was published by White Wolf Publishing from 1986 to 1995. History While still in high school, Stewart Wieck and Steve Wieck decided to self-publish their own magazine, and Steve chose the name "White Wolf" after Elric of Melniboné. ''Dragonlance'' is a shared universe created by Laura and Tracy Hickman, and expanded by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis under the direction of TSR, Inc. into a series of fantasy novels. Glorantha is a fantasy world created by Greg Stafford. Robin Hood
Robin Hood is a legendary heroic outlaw originally depicted in English folklore and subsequently featured in literature and film. According to legend, he was a highly skilled archer and swordsman. In some versions of the legend, he is depicted as being of noble birth, and in modern retellings he is sometimes depicted as having fought in the Crusades before returning to England to find his lands taken by the Sheriff.
