Gat Perich
The Gat Perich International Humor Prize, (Premi Internacional d'Humor Gat Perich) is an international award to cartoonists or humorists given in memory of Spanish cartoonist Jaume Perich (1941–1995). It has been awarded since 1995. The prize consists in a silver figure of one of the famous cats drawn by Perich, holding a pencil. It has also been awarded at the Gat Perich Honours Awards series, recognising the career and work of veteran cartoonists and humorists who have become benchmarks for the contemporary generations. Jaume Perich
Jaume Perich Escala, better known as El Perich (Barcelona, November 5, 1941-Mataró, February 1, 1995), was a Catalan writer, cartoonist and humorist. He was also the translator of French series such as Asterix, Blueberry and Achille Talon, among others. Biography In 1964 he started as editor of the publisher Bruguera. Alfons Figueras i Fontanals (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain, 15 October 1922 – 6 July 2009) was a Spanish cartoonist. Kap (Jaume Capdevila) was born in 1974 in Berga, Barcelona, Spain. He is a cartoonist and caricaturist in some journals of Barcelona: La Vanguardia and El Mundo Deportivo among others.
