Gary Shaw (Irish Footballer)
Gary Shaw (born 10 May 1992) is an Irish professional footballer. He has previously played for Longford Town, Shamrock Rovers, St Patrick's Athletic and Bray Wanderers. Club career Youth career A native of Newbridge, County Kildare, Shaw started out playing for his local side Newbridge Town at underage level. A prolific goalscorer, he was soon promoted to the first team before catching the eye of Shamrock Rovers who invited him to play as a guest in the 2009 SuperCupNI, an international youth tournament held in Northern Ireland and known then as the Milk Cup. It was contested by teams from all around the world and has been won in the past by the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, Tottenham and Manchester United. Although Rovers failed to progress beyond the group stages, Shaw did score in Rovers' victory over Mexican side Cruz Azul. Newbridge, County Kildare
Newbridge, officially known by its Irish name Droichead Nua (), is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. While the nearby Great Connell Priory was founded in the 13th century, the town itself formed from the 18th century onwards, and grew rapidly alongside a military barracks which opened in the early 19th century. Taking on the name Newbridge (''An Droichead Nua'') in the 20th century, the town expanded to support the local catchment, and also as a commuter town for Dublin. Doubling in population during the 20 years between 1991 and 2011, its population of 22,742 in 2016 makes it the largest town in Kildare and the fifteenth-largest in Ireland. Dean Clarke (born 29 March 1993) is an Irish professional footballer who most recently played for League of Ireland club, St Patrick's Athletic, where he spent two and a half seasons. He started his career with UCD, and had two seasons with Limerick, one either side of a year spent at Shamrock Rovers. Career Early career Growing up in Dundrum, South Dublin, Clarke played with local sides Greystones, Park Celtic and St. Joseph's Boys as well as being part of a very successful school side at Oatlands College which were both Leinster and All-Ireland school champions, where he played alongside James Kavanagh, who he would go on to play with later in his career. Pat Fenlon
Patrick Fenlon (born 15 March 1969) is an Irish football coach and former player. Fenlon played as a midfielder for St Patrick's Athletic, Bohemians, Linfield, Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne. As a manager he won five League of Ireland titles with Shelbourne and Bohemians between 2003 and 2009. During his time with Bohemians Fenlon also won the FAI Cup in 2008, the League of Ireland Cup in 2009 and the Setanta Sports Cup in 2010. Fenlon moved to Scottish club Hibernian in November 2011, who he helped reach two Scottish Cup Finals, although both were lost heavily. Playing career Fenlon was born in Dublin. After playing as a schoolboy with four local clubs, he was with London club Chelsea as a young trainee.
