Gary Quinlan
Gary Francis Quinlan (born 11 March 1951) is an Australian diplomat and public servant, who served as the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia from 2018 to 2021. He has previously served as High Commissioner to Singapore and as the Permanent Representative of Australia to the United Nations, including two terms as President of the United Nations Security Council. Early life Born on 9 February 1951, Quinlan was educated at the University of Newcastle and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with honours. Diplomatic career Quinlan joined the then Department of Foreign Affairs in 1973 and served in several senior positions in the Department in Canberra including First Assistant Secretary, Consular, Public Diplomacy and Parliamentary Affairs Division (2007) and First Assistant Secretary, Americas and Europe Division (2000–01). Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations). Mahamat Zene Cherif ( ar, محمد زين شريف; born 1964) is a Chadian diplomat and politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chad from December 2017 to his resignation in September 2022. before serving as the Minister of Communication for a brief stint and then being re-appointed in May 2021 to once again continue as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He previously served as the Permanent Representative of Chad to the United Nations in New York. Zene has a Master of Laws degree from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. María Cristina "Marita" Perceval (born 10 September 1956) is an Argentine politician and member of the Justicialist Party. She was the Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations from September 2012 to February 2016, and served as a National Senator for Mendoza Province from 2001 to 2009. Treaty On Certain Maritime Arrangements In The Timor Sea
Officially called the Treaty between Australia and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste on Certain Maritime Arrangements in the Timor Sea (CMATS), the treaty provides for the equal distribution of revenue derived from the disputed Greater Sunrise oil and gas field between Australia and East Timor. The field is located in the Timor Gap where Australia and East Timor have overlapping claims over the continental shelf or seabed. Prior to the treaty, East Timor would only have received about 18% of the revenue from the field. CMATS also puts on hold the right by both countries to claim sovereign rights, discuss maritime boundaries or engage in any legal process in relation to maritime boundaries or territorial jurisdiction for 50 years which is the duration the treaty is in effect.
