Gary Phillips (basketball)
Gary A. Phillips (born December 7, 1939) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'3" (1.90 m) guard, Phillips starred at the University of Houston during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was the University of Houston's first All-America basketball player who earned Second-Team All-America honors in 1959–60 and First-Team honors in 1960–61. A two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, Phillips ended his college career having scored 1,452 points. Gary Phillips (footballer)
Gary Christopher Phillips (born 20 September 1961) is a footballer coach and former player who played as a goalkeeper. He is academy head of goalkeeping at Watford. Phillips started his career as a schoolboy at Southampton before moving to non-League Chalfont St Peter in 1978. He moved to Brighton & Hove Albion the same year. Phillips joined West Bromwich Albion in 1979, but failed to make an appearance and decided to sign for Barnet in 1981. Eventually he was sold to Brentford for £5,000. He then joined Reading, where he was loaned out to Barnet and Hereford United. Phillps permanently rejoined Barnet in 1989, where he became player-manager in 1993. Thereafter, he took on the role of player-manager at Aylesbury United from March 1996 to November 1997 and from October 1999 to November 2001. Gary Phillips (born 9 June 1963) is an Australian football coach and former professional soccer player, who is coach of the Cook Islands women's national team. Playing career A central midfielder, Phillips played for more than a decade with Sydney Olympic in the National Soccer League before joining Brisbane Strikers, winning titles with both clubs. He retired after the 1996–1997 season. Coaching career As a coach, Phillips was in charge of Sydney Olympic in the 2001–2002 and 2002–2003 seasons, winning the title in 2001–2002, before he was extraordinarily dismissed the following season. Phillips was the inaugural coach of Newcastle Jets during the 2008–09 W-League season. Gary Phillips is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He represented New Zealand in the 1960 World Cup. Playing career Phillips played for Ellerslie in the Auckland Rugby League competition and represented Auckland. Gary Phillips (born Gary Edmund Philippet; February 5, 1947 – January 17, 2007) was an American musician who played keyboard with The Greg Kihn Band. He joined them in 1981, just before their US #15 hit "The Breakup Song". In 1983, they had a #2 US/#63 UK hit with "Jeopardy".
