Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. Rheanne Lugg
Rheanne Lugg (born 22 February 1990) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played in the AFL Women's (AFLW) for Adelaide, from 2018 to 2019, and for Brisbane, from 2020 to 2021. State football Lugg played with Swan Districts in the West Australian Women's Football League (WAWFL), alongside Chelsea Randall, and won a premiership with them. She played over 125 games for Swan Districts. In 2017, Lugg played for Riverina Lions in AFL Canberra. The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs.
