Gary Frangalas
Gary Frangalas (born 6 May 1963) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans and Richmond Football Club, Richmond in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL). Frangalas, a Clayton recruit, played mostly across half back and half forward. He played with Sydney for three league seasons and didn't miss a single game in 1985. Based in Melbourne during that time, he was one of the Swans players requested by club management to make the move to Sydney for the 1986 season, but he instead joined Richmond, a club he had supported growing up. During his time at Richmond he struggled with injuries, including a torn knee cartilage. Frangalas joined Victorian Football Association club Dandenong Football Club, Dandenong in 1991. Clayton Football Club
The Clayton Football & Netball Club (CFNC) is an Australian rules football club located in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Clayton, Victoria, Clayton. They compete in the 3rd Division of the Southern Football Netball League in the Men's football competition, the 2nd Division of the Women's competition and field two Women's Netball teams in the SFNL Netball competition. History Founded in 1908 by William Bunny, a local Councillor at the time, the club first played in The Berwick Football Association and its successor the Dandenong District Football Association. When the Dandenong competition folded and reformed as the South West Gippsland FL in 1954, Clayton opted to join the Federal Football League. The Sydney Swans are a professional Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Swans also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Richmond's headquarters and training facilities are located at its original home ground, the Punt Road Oval, which sits adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the club's playing home since 1965. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). Dandenong Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the Victorian Football Association (VFA).
