Garry McCoy
Garry McCoy (born 18 April 1972 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional motorcycle racer. He has won races in the 125 cc and 500 cc World Championships, as well as in the Superbike World Championship. He is noted for his oversteering style of riding, earning him the nickname "The Slide King". Career McCoy was born in Sydney and in his late teens was a motorcycle speedway rider in his home state of New South Wales, racing alongside such riders as Todd Wiltshire and Craig Boyce. McCoy mostly rode in Division 2 races at tracks like the now closed Newcastle Motordrome. He finished second in the NSW Div 2 championship in November 1990. He raced in his first 125 cc world championship races in 1992, only four months after his first road race of any kind. Alex Hofmann
Alexander Hofmann (born 25 May 1980) is a retired Grand Prix motorcycle racing, Grand Prix motorcycle racer, who now works on German television coverage of the sport. He is nicknamed 'The Hoff' in English-speaking countries, a nod to David Hasselhoff. Early years He successfully raced in Motocross in his early teens, before entering the German 125cc championship for the first time in 1995, and the European series alongside it a year later. In 1997 he was runner-up in the German series, and also started the German 125cc World Championship race as a Wild card (sports)#Motorsport, wild card. In 1998 he moved up to 250cc, winning every race in the German championship and also winning the List of Grand Prix motorcycle racing European champions, European title, as well as coming 10th in a one-off in the 250cc World Championship. The 2001 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 53rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary 2001 was the end of the 500 cc era in Grand Prix motorcycle racing; in 2002 the premier class would be renamed MotoGP and dominated by 4-stroke 990 cc machines. However, 2001 was the beginning of another era, that of Valentino Rossi's run of championships in the top class. His learning year past him, he won 11 races in 2001, far outdistancing his nearest competitor, Max Biaggi. Rossi and Biaggi began the season with a controversial incident at Suzuka, where Biaggi seemed to have tried to push Rossi into the dirt at 150 mph and Rossi responded two laps later with an aggressive pass and an extended middle finger. The 2020 Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix was the second round of the 2020 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and the first round of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship. Fabio Quartararo (; born 20 April 1999), nicknamed El Diablo, is a French Grand Prix motorcycle rider racing in MotoGP for Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP. Having won the 2021 MotoGP World Championship, he is the first French World Champion in the premier class' history. Prior to his Grand Prix career, Quartararo won six Spanish junior championship titles, including successive CEV Moto3 titles in 2013 and 2014.
