Garrett Griffin (born March 4, 1994) is an American football tight end who is a free agent. He played college football at Air Force. High school Raised in Louisburg, Kansas, Garrett attended Louisburg High School in Kansas. Garrett was a two-time state champion in the javelin and was a member of the 2010 4A Kansas state champion football team. He was coached by his father, Gary. College career Garrett played college football at Air Force from 2012 to 2015 and finished his career with 41 catches for 678 yards and 8 touchdowns. Professional career New Orleans Saints Griffin was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on June 6, 2016. He was waived by the Saints on September 3, 2016, and was signed to the practice squad the next day. The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
