Bob Garretson (born April 8, 1933) is a former American racing driver. Garretson was the owner-driver of a Porsche 935 sports car team named Garretson Enterprises in the early 1980s that competed part-time in both the World Sportscar Championship and IMSA GT Championship. Darell Lee Garretson (March 18, 1932 – April 21, 2008) was an American professional basketball referee in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 27 years from 1967 to 1994 wearing uniform number 10, and he later served as NBA Supervisor of Officials for 17 years from 1981 to 1998. During his career, Garretson officiated over 2,000 games, including 1,798 regular-season NBA games, 269 playoff games, 39 Finals games and five All-Star games. On April 4, 2016, Garretson was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as an official. John Wesley Garretson
John Wesley Garretson (19 May 1812 – 7 May 1895) was a surveyor who mapped large areas of Arkansas, New Mexico and Texas in the nineteenth century. Early years Garretson was born on 19 May 1812 in Sumner County, Tennessee, not far from Nashville. His father died while he was young. In 1836 Garretson joined the Tennessee Mounted Militia and served for six months in the Seminole Wars in Florida. Arkansas Garretson obtained work as a surveyor with the U.S. General Land Office, assisting with surveys in Arkansas until 1855. He became a friend of William Pelham, who was appointed Surveyor General of Arkansas in 1841. In September 1846 he married Sarah Sheppard (''née'' Conway), the widow of U.S. Deputy Surveyor Joseph Sheppard and sister of William Pelham's wife. In October 1852 L. Mary Welleck Garretson (December 16, 1896 - May 8, 1971) was an American geologist. Garretson had a passion for teaching earlier in her career, obtaining her first job at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) (Behre, n.d., p. 72). From 1921 to 1923, she instructed an introductory geology course, which happened to be the first geology course conducted through this institution. Garretson was subsequently employed as a consultant within the fields of paleontology and stratigraphy (Behre, n.d., p. 72). Ron Garretson (born July 1, 1958 in Long Beach, California) is an American former professional basketball referee for the National Basketball Association (NBA). In his 30+ NBA seasons, from 1987 until 2019, he had officiated over 1,600 games, including 1,397 regular season NBA games, 157 playoff games and 11 Finals games. He also officiated the 1993 Europe Tour in London and the 1997 and 2013 NBA All-Star Games. He is the son of former NBA referee Darell Garretson, who died in April 2008 at the age of 76.
