''Gariwala'' (English title: ''The Cart'') is a 2014 Bangladeshi film written and directed by Ashraf Shishir, and starring Rokeya Prachy, Raisul Islam Asad, Masum Aziz, Imran Imu, and child artistes Maruf and Kabbo. Funded by a Bangladesh government grant, ''Gariwala'' began as a short film before being expanded to feature length. It premiered at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth in the United Arab Emirates on 23 October 2014. It toured extensively on the festival circuit, where its runtime was commonly described as 76 minutes. It opened in Bangladesh on 24 September 2015. It won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Short Film for 2014. Masum Aziz
Muhammad Masum Aziz (1952 – 17 October 2022) was a Bangladeshi stage, film and television actor. He played in more than four hundred dramas and films since 1985. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film '' Ghani'' (2011) and in 2022, he was awarded the Ekushey Padak for his contribution to acting by the government of Bangladesh. Career While studying in University of Chittagong, Aziz made his acting debut in theater. In 1985, he debuted in television dramas. He worked at Dhaka Padatik, a theatre troupe, as both actor and director for several years. His last stage direction was "Trial of Surya Sen". Rokeya Prachy
Rokeya Prachy is a Bangladeshi theater, television and film actress and director. Career Prachy got her acting breakthrough in Morshedul Islam's film ''Dukhai'' in 1997. Her first directorial work was a docufiction for Channel I in 2009. She later directed ''"Lutfunnesa"'' and ''"Bayanno'r Michhile"''. In 2015, she made her first television series direction in ''"Shelai Poribar"''. Personal life Prachy was married to Sergeant Ahad Parvez. He was killed by muggers in Shapla Square, Motijheel in Dhaka on 28 October 1999. She then married journalist and columnist Asif Nazrul in May 2004. They have a daughter together. The marriage ended up in divorce by 2013. Raisul Islam Asad
Asaduzzaman Mohammad Raisul Islam (known as Raisul Islam Asad; born 15 July 1953) is a Bangladeshi freedom fighter and an actor in radio, theatre, television and film. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor four times for his roles in the films ''Padma Nadir Majhi'' (1993), ''Anya Jibon'' (1995), ''Dukhai'' (1997) and '' Lalsalu'' (2001). Besides, he won Best Supporting Actor award twice for the roles in '' Ghani: The Cycle'' (2006) and ''Mrittika Maya'' (2013). As of 2016, he acted in more than 50 films. He was a member of the Crack Platoon an elite urban guerilla, intelligence and commando unit of the Mukti Bahini. Early life and career Asad studied in Dhaka Collegiate School.
