Gareth Evans (rugby Union, Born September 1991)
Gareth Evans (born 19 September 1991) is an English retired professional rugby union player. Between 2011 and 2019 played 85 times for Gloucester, and also played for the Ospreys in Wales. He joined Leicester Tigers in August 2021, but retired without featuring in a first team game for the club in November 2021. Club career As a junior, Gareth played for Longleaze School in Royal Wootton Bassett whose team won a National Tag Rugby tournament. Gareth also played for Wootton Bassett FC during his time there. He was picked up for the Gloucester Academy. Capable of playing blindside flanker or number eight, he was a regular in the A League side and scored a notable try in James Simpson-Daniel's Testimonial game against Russia. During his time in the academy he was also sent on loan to Hartpury College, gaining experience of playing men's rugby in National League 2 South for the 2011–12 season. European Rugby Challenge Cup
The EPCR Challenge Cup is an annual rugby union competition organised by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). It is the second-tier competition for clubs based in European leagues behind the European Rugby Champions Cup. From its inception in 1996 to 2014, it was known as the European Challenge Cup and governed by European Rugby Cup (ERC). Following disagreements in the structure of the tournament's format and division of revenue, the English and French leagues withdrew to form the EPCR, which organized the Challenge Cup and the Champions Cup since the 2014–15 season. The Premiership Rugby Sevens Series is a friendly Rugby Sevens competition for the twelve Premiership Rugby clubs that will play the following season (i.e. the 2010 competition features the teams playing in the Aviva Premiership in the 2010–11 season). It was started in 2010, as an off-season competition, held during the months of July and August. Between 2014 and 2016 the competition included the four Welsh regions which compete in the Pro14. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition.
