Garborg Centre
The Garborg Centre (Norwegian: ''Nasjonalt Garborgsenter'') is an educational centre dedicated to the husband and wife authors, Arne Garborg and Hulda Garborg. It is situated near Arne Garborg's childhood home in the town of Bryne, Time, Norway, Time municipality, in Rogaland, Norway. The centre aims to encourage people’s interest for the ideas and visions of the two important authors and members of society in Norwegian history. The centre will also encourage visitors to take a more active part in today’s society, and inspire them to read and develop their own creativity. It contains a roleplay, titled ''Strid'' about conflicts regarding language, Identity (social science), identity and democracy. The center opened September 5, 2012. Garborg Centre is operated in cooperation with Jærmuseet, a museum organization aiming to inspire youth about science, technology and culture. Nærbø
Nærbø is the largest village in Hå municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located in the district of Jæren, about half-way between the town of Bryne and the village of Varhaug. The village sits about south of Norway's fourth largest city, Stavanger. The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Nærbø from 1894 until 1964 when it was merged into Hå. Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola
Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola (Sola Aviation Museum) is an aviation museum located in Stavanger Airport, Sola, near Stavanger, Norway. The museum was founded in 1984 and is run by local volunteers. Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola went into cooperation with Jærmuseet in January 2012. Facilities The museum is housed in an old aircraft hangar at the former seaplane base at Stavanger Airport, built by German labour during World War II. Tungenes Lighthouse
Tungenes Lighthouse ( no, Tungenes fyr) is a coastal lighthouse located in the municipality of Randaberg in Rogaland county, Norway. The lighthouse is situated at the north end of the Tungenes headland on the tip of Stavanger Peninsula just to the north of the city of Stavanger. The lighthouse is no longer in use, but it is used as a fine arts center and lighthouse/maritime museum. There is also a cafe in one of the buildings. Historically, the lighthouse was the main light marking the entrance to the Byfjorden, the main fjord leading to the important city of Stavanger. History Tungenes was first lit in 1828 at a time when the fishing and herring trade increased the need for a safer entrance to the harbor at Stavanger via the Byfjorden. The Science Factory
Science Factory ( no, Vitenfabrikken) is a museum and science center located at Sandnes, in Rogaland, Norway. Background The Science Factory opened in May 2008. It is a science museum with exhibitions about mathematic, astronomy, chemistry, physics, art, and technology. The history of Sandnes also well as regional history also showcased in the museum. In June 2013 a new exhibition called 100% energy was opened. As a part of the exhibition, the Science Factory has their own Tesla Coil.
