Garbology (album)
''Garbology'' is a collaborative studio album by rapper Aesop Rock and producer Blockhead. It was released through Rhymesayers Entertainment on November 12, 2021. The album was preceded by one single, "Jazz Hands", which was released on October 13, 2021, alongside a music video directed by Rob Shaw. Background Prior to this album, Aesop Rock and Blockhead had been longtime collaborators; Blockhead had contributed production to each of Aesop's first five albums, and Aesop had provided vocals on several of Blockhead's solo tracks. However, before the two artists started work on this album, they had never collaborated on a full-length project together. The artists began working in this album in early 2020, as Aesop was processing the death of a close friend, the skateboarder Kurt Hayashi. Ian Matthias Bavitz (born June 5, 1976), better known by his stage name Aesop Rock, is an American rapper and producer from Long Island, New York. He was at the forefront of the new wave of underground and alternative hip hop acts that emerged during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was signed to El-P's Definitive Jux label until it went on hiatus in 2010. In a 2010 retrospective, betterPropaganda ranked him at number 19 at the ''Top 100 Artists of the Decade''. Billy Woods (stylized as billy woods) is an American rapper based in New York. He is also the founder of the record label Backwoodz Studioz. Woods has been a member of Armand Hammer, Super Chron Flight Brothers, and The Reavers. Early life Billy Woods was born in Washington, D.C. His mother was an English literature professor from Jamaica. His father was a PhD Marxist writer, active in the Zimbabwe War of Liberation and then member of the government in Zimbabwe.
